that's a pretty good price. it means that install is only $40... great for noobs like me that know nothing about soldering. what sort of guarantee does kenneth give that he won't fuck up your wii?

Hondaracer 03-10-2007 07:03 PM

where can u get "backups" of games though?

muteki 03-11-2007 06:24 AM

^^^ everywhere and anywhere if you take the time to look XD

Hondaracer 03-11-2007 01:03 PM

^ as in stores, or online images?

muteki 03-11-2007 06:42 PM

i'd say online. it's fast and easy and doesn't require travelling.

it's really really easy to install.. if they've been doing ps2 and stuff in the past.. this is a piece of cake.. although i'm not sure if they use the quick solder point on the chip or use wires.. i used wires myself on mine and my friends wii because i can remove the modchip later on ~ the quick solder point is a hassle to remove the modchip

Hondaracer 03-11-2007 10:42 PM

the Wii cant play DVD's?

give me a break wtf is with that :@

It's Nintendo focusing on one thing and one thing only: enjoyable games.

It worked for the DS, that's for sure

terkan 03-12-2007 04:50 PM

the wii releasing in the future probably like q4 will have dvd playback capability ~ as of now ~ the wii can only read dvd but not play like dvd movies ~ but then that's what ur dvd player is for and all ur other system

ecsw 03-12-2007 04:59 PM

but it's nice to have the wii can also play DVD so you don't need to hook up 2 things in 1 TV. It's not a big deal, but it's nice to have.

they use the wire method. Got mine modded from them, so far I tried Cooking Mama, Pokemon, and Zelda and gameplay (speed, quality etc) is flawless.

Got my wiikey for $50, but I install the chip myself. However the guy I got off from quote me $85 with installation but I prefer installing it myself.

muteki 03-13-2007 07:30 AM

my friend said he was quoted 120 for chip n install at compc. should i mention something about revscene to get it for 100?

steve93SI 03-13-2007 09:12 AM

so if you get the wiikey from COMPC.....where can you get "fake" games?

I could be wrong if he changed the prices recently, but last time I went (yesterday), COMPC was asking $100, but a few stores down, some other store was asking $120 incl. installation.

Im assuming that typeskk got his wiikey in richmond instead of burnaby, because it is relatively cheaper there, but not worth the time spent driving down there depending on where one lives.

yayabonks 03-13-2007 02:04 PM

so what they mean by stealth mode is that it's virtually invisible to any online modchip detection by Nintendo? probably self explanitory but i wanna make sure if anyone's had problems with this.

muteki 03-13-2007 03:43 PM

i saw some people saying they'll provide chip and install for 60 on Craigslist. Any one tried it?

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-13-2007 04:24 PM

so the closet one getting my wii modified for me i guess would be crystal mall? i thought the video game shop in crystal mall closed..? or is this a new one tat just opened??

where can we pick up the fake games than after being modded? and how much are each copy?

:)

Klutch 03-13-2007 08:15 PM

i was wondering if online play would be affected with the mod....wont nintendo find out that u have a modchip when ur onine and ban ur wii from online play?

I also email a guy in craglist that is doing the install + chip for $60 before I get my wiikey regarding which chip he is using . He replied saying that he is not sure, it should be the Wiinja. So I assumed that might be a clone Wiinja chip ?

i was considering diy too but then i realized i need to buy a better soldering iron, solder, tri wing screwdriver... and time. so where did you find this 85 dollar deal?
