Best Roads to drive in BC

If you have awesome suspension and RWD, i recomend the following:

1. Hope princeton Hwy 3.
2. Of course the Sea to Sky
3. the Merrit Autobahn Hwy 97C

and if any of you are in the Okanagan use the lower lake shore routes , they are single lane and you will never get out of 2nd and 3rd gear. these roads go for 50 km at a time.

Anyone else know of a few others?

There's the road from Princeton to Tulameen. Very nice and curvy, and interesting stuff to see. Once you hit Tulameen keep going north and you'll come upon a gravel road, it should be freshly laid down again for some fun driving. That gravel road is about 40km. I think I'll be trying it out this weekend!

i got lost once heading back from abbotsford airport. ended up driving thru this twisty road. really fun to drive. but dont remember where it was tho. its sort of like the section between UBC and spanish banks, but only longer and twistier and more hills.

This is my favorite run in the summer. If you have a nice exhaust, roll your windows down and you can get great echo bouching off the mountains and houses. This is a great run to be stuck in 2nd and 3rd!!. One road, one passing lane, very narrow, tons of corners, dangerous with passing.

The road going from Vernon to Nakusp is a very popular route for "spirited driving" on.

Beautiful stretch on HWY#1 westbound. 500 meters before the Port Mann bridge 7AM Monday morning.. Breathtaking views of the ass end of a dirty white HINO cube truck with the picture of a cock drawn out on the sliding door followed by some nammer in his stunning 1994 BMW 318i trying to merge into your passenger side door panel meanwhile a black F350 supercrew is about 2 tenths of a second away from dismantling your rear bumper all in the light fog and periodic showers.

There are some sick roads out past Lillooet, on the way to Clinton I think. Drove them last summer, unfortunately it was in an F-350.

Re: Best Roads to drive in BC

Highway 5A I believe it is between Merrit and Kamloops. Single lane though so it's a lot more fun to hit it up when theres no traffic. Really fun for windy cornering and acceleration out of the corners.

Second one is way out of the way and not in BC as per the title but for anyone travelling cross provinces this is a great alternate route to get your blood moving again on a long boring trip.

Highway 1A between Cochrane, Ab and Canmore, Ab. One of the most fun roads I've ever driven on. It goes through Exshaw, Extremely tight, nice for 3rd gear and nooooo cops. Its well off the well-beaten path too so you dont run into many vehicles and its actually not going to add too much time to your trip.

Any low-speed (90-130) long roads with lots of curves ?

Yup. But you have to time it right. Nothing more frustrating than driving behind some tourist that's going under the speed limit with no passing lanes for the next 20 minutes.

ya i hate that. if you take the ferry over, stop in gibsons for something to eat. by the time you're done, ferry traffic will have cleared up. (give it about 30 mins.)
