this road is pretty stellar as well.. Green mountain leaving penticton was fabulous.

Also salmon River road from salmon arm is a good short blast as well only problem is that its over too fast (you don't want it too end)

Also just did the revvy-> nackusp-> needles-> lumby loop. the needles-> cherryville was fresh ashphalt so conditions where mint. Highly recommended!

Yeah, this highway goes all the down to Tsawassen, it's a really nice and curvacious road, and rather empty most of the time. Not all that scenic though.

I have seen a total of 1 cop on it, in all the times i've driven it.

I can get from Abby to the ferry in 45 minutes thanks to the SFPR... used to take over an hour from Pitt Meadows at 5am (ie. almost zero traffic).

Best Roads to drive in BC

sfpr is a great drive. Went up to squamish last night around 730. Highway was dead beautiful drive when you get to cut corners. Not speeding of course. even cruising up in 4th at 100km/h was enough. great sights, fresh air, great drive at sunset.

Sylvester is great. Just past mission on lougheed. How ever if your car is lowered please be careful, there is a gravel hill at the end of the road, I was driving at night a didn't see till it was too late, smacked those potholes at like 80 km in my Miata. Nothing broke, but be careful.

Pipeline Road from Coquitlam Center -> Coquitlam Lake was quite the enjoyable drive

Stumbled upon it on an aimless cruise

I see a lot of recommendations for the Duffy Lake loop but wanted to toss in another twisty highway I drove this weekend.

BC Highway 8 between Merritt and Spences Bridge. About 65km, two-lane highway. Runs along the Nicola River and has plenty of twists and turns. Was quiet on Saturday and did not see any trucks or other heavy vehicles.

Probably some potholes... There's no snow anywhere this year.

The run around route that's relatively close to my house. Not much traffic but the road never gets perfectly dry there except for the middle of summer. I've never seen a cop there once, occasional traffic during the day, and it's way more curvy than google makes it out to be.

Went to Chilliwack/Agassiz today. Hwy 7 was pretty good, but then I went to check out Cascade Falls. The waterfall itself is not that amazing but the drive.. holy shit the turns were wicked. Elevation also goes up and down. A similar feel to the Mt Baker road just down south in the beginning.

haha I was just gonna say. Honestly, any road in Kelowna. They have so many mountains and lakes. Wether your ideal road is sight seeing, twisty roads, or dirt and offroad.

HWY 33 out of Kelowna

Recently drove part of Highway 33 out of Kelowna. It runs to the Big White turn-off then South to Rock Creek. The highway is a wide two lane in excellent condition for the most part. It features wide sweepers following the valley bottom. The posted speeds are generous and you have to watch for oversteer on some corners, even at the posted speed. Visibilty is excellent and there is lots of places to pass. However, the highway heading South to Beaverdell was very empty (one pontiac firefly, one actual deer). Stopped at Marleys for ice cream and pizza in Beaverdell and headed back. Nice two hour return trip.

Someone in Beaverdell had a 350 Z parked by the side of the road with a for sale sign.

Lumby Auto Wrecker

If and when you check out Highway 6 through Lumby visit the autowrecking yard just south of the main intersection in town. Counter sales rep says it is the largest in Western Canada and it is trully massive. Unfortunately it seems they do not allow pick-n-pull, so they frown on pedestrians taking a look around. The Japanese car section is visible from the road and is amazing with cars stacked 5-7 high row on row. It is probably too dangerous to let the public in there. I suggested they set themselves up as a tourist attraction.

Despite the massive inventory the sales rep said that they have no FDs, although he offered that they have a number of RX-8s.

If the largest wrecking yard in Western Canada has no FDs, then who has?

Summerland Showroom

If you are passing through Summerland on Hwy 97 it may be worthwhile to visit the Nixdorf Classic Car Showroom on Jones Flat Road. I understand this warehouse stores a private collection of about 75 superbly restored cars from the 1950s and 60s, many of which are rare convertible examples. However, the highlight might be roaming the restoration shops in the back where there are currently 10-15 cars being worked on. It is interesting to see how far a person's passion for cars can go. The showroom is open only in the summer and they say the entrance fee ($20) is given to charity.

Also if you are in Kelowna why not drop by Force Fed's shop near Sexsmith and Harvey and see what they are up to? Recently they were working on a Skyline, 350Z, 66 era Mustang, early Chevy II/Nova, first gen RX-7 and a race ready Porsche. The shop seems to be in a brand new building and looks great. They confirmed that FD are not common in the Kelowna area.

Here are some pics from Nixdorf
