yo shawn, don't talk smack, provide some proof home slice.

shawn79 12-28-2007 01:38 AM

only bad part is if you are in the buggy department you will never get out of it no matter how hard you work!

3month probation you get a $0.50 raise.

sundays are the sweet spot. 4$ premium. so say you start at 11, sundays you make 11+4 = 15$ an hour for an entry level job.

9.50 was the old start wage, they recently increased it to 11.

Holy they start @ $11 now I used to work for $9.50> I was an ex employer @ the Richmond Location and worked front end which kinda suck balls especially on the weekends and rush hour on weekdays. The bad part is that you get minimal hours when you first start off. However this would be a great secondary job or job for students.

any costco locations still hiring right now ??

woozzle 01-03-2008 11:43 PM

they're always hiring, just drop off your resume

azndvdiz 01-04-2008 12:44 AM

I'm currently working @ the downtown one, I work as a morning merch. I'm pretty sure we are hiring one more part timer, drop your resume. =) My hours are 5:15-10:15, but if you want to stay for the full 8 hours (5:15-1:45) you can ask the front end, they always need people to stay, wether its doing the Buggies or Front end service things. =)

I handed email my resume to the richmond location a few times. Got response but was always offer another job before costco...

now i'm looking for a job again, think if i go hand in my resume in person they won't know i'm the loser that apply liek 10 billion times before?

woozzle 01-05-2008 12:48 AM

nah don't worry about it, i worked as a seasonal and dropped off my resume every seasonal period...so they have about a billion of my resume...i always turned them down tho haha...best chace is to hand them like a month before their seasonal period which is sometime in May (i think) and November for summer and winter season

threezero 01-05-2008 01:47 AM

yea seasonals for any place are easy to get in. But i want a job now... and its not hiring season

woozzle 01-06-2008 10:59 AM

as long as you can do full time i think you have a good chance. IMO, try the downtown costco, for some reason i feel that they don't have a lot of employee. it\s always so dead there

Mug3n 01-06-2008 10:30 PM

do you guys think they're hire someone who doesn't know a lot of english ? i'm trying to get my cousin in but he's fresh to this country.

yea, they do

alot of ppl who don't have a good command of the english language are either hired into, or choose to work in the dept's that do not require alot of member contact.... ie service deli, maintenance

woozzle 01-07-2008 07:06 PM

the morning crew don't need any english as they don't talk to anyone LOL

to everyone: they're always hiring, they just take a shitload of time to call you for interview

illicitstylz 01-07-2008 11:33 PM

richmond costco is hiring for morning merch to my understanding.

shifts start at 5am , doesn't require fluent english as long as you understand it , it should be fine.

how would someone who doesn't know english apply? there's nothing to put for my cousin's resume

woozzle 01-09-2008 10:21 PM

^ like i said, try the morning shift even if he bombed the interview, there's a good chance they will hire him since morning crew are desperate for people

fuzzy*panda 02-03-2008 08:25 PM

is the burnaby or vancouver grandview hiring?

Yan86 02-18-2008 10:40 AM

what jobs are open @ the richmond location now?

illicitstylz 02-18-2008 09:35 PM

whatever you do, just don't apply for major sales electronics. the manager eric is a prick and will run you like a slave.

i never worked for him but seeing as how he'd tell me to do his job ( even though i'm under a different manager/section ) and how he runs his staff, i feel sorry for his employees.

i use to work for him, if you earn his respect he's one of the best bosses to work for... i know he can be harsh but if you work hard and you want to learn some good work/management skills, he's the one to work for

most of the ppl who move on to bigger and better things have worked for eric

he use to run afternoon merch and afternoon merch use to be the most dependable staff in the entire warehouse, deep down, every mgr at richmond respects and regards him highly

get to know him and im sure your impression will change

i respect his work ethic but when i did work afternoon merch, the only thing that ticked me off would be him(or his staff) would leave their pallet of trash in MY aisles and i'd basically be responsible for cleaning up their waste.

and maybe i just wasn't use to his "tone" of conversation.

eveuie 03-03-2008 08:08 PM

i wonder, do you get some incentives if you recommend someone to costco and they hire the person? because i want to work part time in the burnaby location (evening & weekends). or, i'll give you the incentive if i get hired :D

didn't see any application forms on the website. so do i just go in there and give them my resume?

k2_alpha 03-03-2008 10:47 PM

^as stated many many times before, just go in and hand in your resume.

i worked for costco before, and i was hired on the spot.

k2_alpha 03-03-2008 10:49 PM

Also, for those who are wondering, Richmond Costco will ALWAYS hire you part time to start off. You have to work a couple of months before your manager will recommend you for full time.

willystyle 02-24-2009 11:56 PM

Does Costco have Loss Prevention positions?
