Way to go, friend......... bringing a noob to blood donor clinic is so cool. Get 'em hooked on giving. Nothing more honourable than that.

Let's hope your friend hasn't been handling any monkeys or been to any of those forbidden places.

And hope they don't get frightened off by all the questions.

I was going to book my first appointment a few weeks ago but realized I'd visited a Singapore very recently so couldn't. But I must have misread it back then, because I checked right now again after seeing your post and it's actually under the no-risk list!

Booking an appointment tomorrow!

MG1 12-20-2013 11:27 PM

LenovoTurbo 12-21-2013 08:37 AM

MG1 12-21-2013 03:44 PM

Not really racist! 01-01-2014 10:47 PM

noob said she was too skinny

but who knows eh LOL

MG1 01-04-2014 07:52 PM

Went first thing this morning. Not a good idea for me. Too much caffeine from night before and not enough water. Took a long time to fill the bag. Nearly had to abort. Caffeine dehydrates you and causes shrinkage - not something guys want to hear, LOLOLOLOLOL. The veins, that is.

Blood donation gone wrong today at oak Centre :(

I have super small veins. Lots of nurses told me that.
Today I got a trainee. First one said she didn't feel confident.
Second one did it and pinched my nerve multiple times. It hurt like a fucking bitch Holy shit.
Most nurses pinch my nerves initially so I'm pretty used to the pain but this one was omg my arm felt like it was tearing apart
Body went into shock and I couldn't stop shaking like a retard for an hour.
:( never going to that location again. Staffs are super nice and friendly there though.

Did you drink a lot of water and stay away from caffiene? I had problems last time and it was due to taking water too late. At least one day before drink lots of water.

As for the nurses, there are good ones and there are bad ones. When I go, I make sure to tell them about my rolling veins - only the best nurse in the house to poke my veins.

BTW, Blood Services finally sent my my 25 donation card. Really nice........

Bringing this up from the dad files..........

I stopped giving blood after 28 times. After my wife passed away, I really didn't want anything to do with the health care system. Recently and all of a sudden, I realized how selfish that is. My wife went for blood transfusions a few times during her fight with cancer and I thought to myself, "What if, people just stopped giving blood?" I'm going to start donating again.''

Please consider giving blood, RS. All of you young ones.......... if an old fart like me can do it, so can you.

i used to consistently do it every 56 days, book a time Friday and I get work to give me the time off to go donate blood early. It's awesome

Do drink tons of water the morning of.

As for now, I stopped giving blood as I'm constantly on medication. Can't wait to give blood again. It's free!

Phozy 08-20-2017 10:56 AM

Yes, donate blood. It seems like a taboo thing to do for people in my age group (19-25) - but people react to incentives. I donated after seeing my grandfather in the hospital for blood transfusions.

Making it a quarterly routine now; costs my body nothing since I am young and healthy, and its for a good cause.

Inaii 08-20-2017 11:14 AM

I wish I'd donated more before being put on medication. My only real regret in life :(

MG1 08-20-2017 01:20 PM

^Thats totally fine. You know RS will more than make up for it. It was a RS blood drive thing way way back that pushed me to start donating. That's when I met a lot of RS members, right, Orgasmic Donor? Saucywoman, just to name a couple.

Which reminds me, you can donate under the Revscene name. Can someone confirm this?

Inaii 08-20-2017 01:45 PM

I used to go to those, pretty sure I helped out with the arranging of one of them... I think it was when I first joined

MG1 08-20-2017 04:26 PM

Wasn't it your dear brother who arranged the last one? I remember I pm'd him for more info. In any case, thanks RS.

Not really racist! 08-22-2017 06:09 PM

Count me in if you guys arrange another blood drive

.

honestly, my incentive was getting free cookies afterwards, no joke.

blkgsr 08-25-2017 09:20 AM

they don't want my blood....been to too many countries on the no go list and i've had a few bad illnesses from travelling

what's the wait period? isn't it like 2 years?

inv4zn 08-25-2017 10:32 PM

^1 year for most countries.

I've donated twice now in the past year. The finger prick hurts more than the actual needle for the tube lol
