Yep AF tuning would work best on Primes but from what i understand if you have a zoom lens you need to find an average within all focal lengths and set it to that. Mine was between 6-8 so 7 worked best overall

^ The camera? This is already my second copy and back focus is evident with alot of D7000s.. Slight AF tuning to compensate does not necessarily mean issues with body. Its just the way the D7000 behaves with different lenses as apposed to other Nikon DSLRs. If you need more like 20-+ adjustments then you have a problem and should probably exchange or service.

DDR, try this test Nikon D70 Focus Chart you may have abit of back focus too

T2i > d3100 > t3
Wow awesome deal for the t2i
When I first began photography I posted in here (perfectly a year ago) and ended up getting the d90. Sometimes I wish I got the t2i instead lol. Still using the d90 and dying bad to get a 60d or d7k

T2i isnt the better choice if you're doing some video though. Theres no AF and the focus motors are a bit loud if you decide to half-shutter and let it focus.

If you dont mind using MF when videoing then it is the better camera.

buying a new dslr the next month.
currently using a d90 and anything above 800 iso is really grainy.

cant decide between the 60d and d7000 right now.
i read that the 60d is better at low light (i shoot a lot of low light pics) and its better at filming
but the d7000 is slightly better overall. should i just go for the d7000?

i would not compare the 60d with the D7000 at all... I had a chance to use a 60d and its more or less like a Canon t3i and will be a big downgrade from a d90. Although if your into cinematography then 60d wins over the D7000. Plus 60d is plastic where D7000 is magnesium alloy.

I can shoot at ISO 2000 with little grain so low light situations are perfect. Dont know where u read the 60d is better in regards to grain and iso..

Overall, D7000 for sure! I love mine

Take a look at this aswell

i actually think the 60d is a huge upgrade from my d90 lol.
i used exhil's t1i for 2 photoshoots and i think it performed a lot better than my d90 at higher iso... but then again the 60d has the same sensor as the t2i so maybe its not much of an upgrade. i guess im leaning more towards the d7000 because ill be more comfortable with the controls and dont have to switch up all my gear

thanks a lot for the feedback broski !

I'm planning on getting the d90, it's not my first DSLR though. I'm looking for a more bang for the buck body for that price range and I've heard d90 is a great camera.

Opinions?

I just got my D90 this past summer with the that I saved up from work. I love the camera and is it does have the best bang for the buck because of the top lcd and AF motor. Keep in mind that it is a fairly old camera and discontinued. I got one of the last ones at London Drugs after checking the other big box stores back in June. You might want to look into the 5100 which is in the same price range.

Go with the D7000! My uncle has a 60D and he now wishes he waited a little longer and got a D7000 instead haha

What are you upgrading from? D90 was probably the best in it's class/price range till the D7000 replaced it. Still a pretty good camera though, worth it.

man.... the GF2 with stock zoom was $289 on newegg.ca .... all gone now. this would have been an awesome walk-around with a pancake lens.

I upgraded from a shitty olympus dslr , I never expected to love photography so much.

Would the D5100 be a better choice than the d90? From what I head its worth the search to get a d90 even though its discontinued

Can anybody suggest a good point and shoot for around $250.00. I took a look the other day and even the most advanced honestly suck so much compared to DSLRs.. Makes me feel like im wasting money on inferior technology lmao

Any thoughts on the Lumix TS3? After doing a lot of reading on dpreview I think that's probably my best option right now but if anybody knows something I don't I'd love to know!

at that price range... probably the canon 310/510/500 HS, or the fuji F-watever-EXR's. i'd like absolute control over settings, which is why i settled on a s95 last year (for my gf haha). also considered the lx5, xz1, p7100. if it's for yourself, i'd consider spending a bit more for the aforementioned models.

and skip the sony HX#V's, the noise-reduction at high ISO's drove me absolutely crazy. I mean yes, the picture came out, but it was like an oil painting lol. and manual mode gave you a whopping number of 2 apertures. for some reason it gets raving reviews online everywhere.

i don't think u have much of a choice if ur looking for a water-proof model. i guess there's also the D10. we got my gf's grandfather a TS2 for this travels. they love it and it held up very well, and the pictures looked great (subjective, of course) on his screensaver.

Now that I have my summer ultralight backpacking weight down to a full weekend in the bush with food at 15 pounds, I don't have the desire to carry 10 pounds of DSLR and camera gear out into the mountains with me anymore so I've been looking at alternatives that will get me 60% of the photo but at 20% of the weight. I'd consider the D10 more seriously if it'd do more than 640x480 video (compared against the 1920x1080 of the TS3) as I don't plan on taking my Hero into the bush or waste any of my iPhone's battery when I'm nowhere near civilization.
