there isnt really such a port that will give you lower end power for the rotary, the NA based engines have more lag than a small turbo'ed engine. this much i know from first hand experience. but once the rev's get going, its a nice experience.

my buddy has a street ported 12A, with larger carb, K&N, exhaust, etc. its a quick little machine, but is only really good once its already going 80kph+

now,as far as i know the street port will keep the bottom end power at its best, but is there a better way to lose the NA rotar lag?

To decrease a rotaries lag and to increase low end torque you must swap over to DLIDFIS.This ignition upgrade will get rid of the nasty backfires when you pound on your rotary with no cats on it then go to shut it off and BANG out the tailpipe.(mine backfires like a shotgun).Heres a link to the ignition page.Ignition Upgrade(Cheap) The guy says it even increases spark at 8000+ rpm.One day when I'm not lazy I'll swap over to this system seeing as it makes the car easier to start with more torque in the low end.Enjoy.

cool. thanks. i'll pass that onto my buddy... i hope to see his car holding strong by next year. i sold him my original 85 GS for a parts car, one of the worst mistakes of my life :(

but whiht all this porting whould you not have ti upgrade your fule system like 720 cc injetors to compsate the big flow upgrade you get mostly

i fully under stand the ingsytem caue sit will just blow out or just be weak

now the other one to chear up is the back psure thing when you port do you need more or less

i think you whould need less

but on low rpm it whould be poping like mo foe caues the eninge has not hit it's set speed

now i going on limb here

now if you were to go street prt and such and ad more restive exhuast whouldent that make more turq in lower rpm

Porting makes for shitty mileage(Don't own a Rx and expect mileage anyways). But serious power gains are made by porting.200hp NA at 9500 rpm on a 12a bridgeported with rotor clearencing.220hp NA 13b at 8000rpm without anything other than bridgeporting. These numbers are before header and exhaust mind you.Racing Beat publish these numbers before and I found once on the net.Impressive gains.:D Almost makes me wish my engine blows up.:D I might buy a core and build one on my spare time.Buy the Streetport plates from racing beat and do it myself.:D Scream like a badass NA style

NanaimoRx-7 10-22-2002 05:18 PM

ill build ya one in a few months.. go ahead and have fun blowing it :) but there are benefits to rebuild before it blows.. :) anyways i got the business club cards printed and am handing them out and have got lots of good reponces from people intrested in the club... so me and george are going to try and head down to vic soon and hopefully round up a few more... and ill give a few to Ed or whoever we meet up with to hand out down there.. let get this thing huge :)

Damn.YardPig said that the oil cooler he had has some dents init.So I guess I have to find another one.:flamemad: Oh well.I heard the FC's oil cooler works but you have to find a spot to mount it out of the way and use the FC oil lines.

 I saw that turbo on www.thepartstrader.com for 2000US$ Can we say Bling Bling!

Rx racer 10-27-2002 06:29 PM

Hey Tyler check out this thread FS: 1987 Turbo II With that mileage it already needs a rebuild soon and that means porting time.:D And it has decent wheels too. Can't wait I just bought a Mazdatrix airdam.Give my car a new look in the summer.I love modifying my Rex!

Timpo 10-27-2002 08:09 PM

bcty
700hp for 13b is really hard...you should look for something like 500HP+...cuz if you push that much power with 13b, then engine will die fast...
