((Sooner or later time will tell))

ps they hav done some gas saveing fechers for the new motor as well but have not read any thing about just herd

CanadianRX7 11-21-2002 04:08 PM

yea i agree with Nashman, there is no way you will get 50hp out of that. Even with advancing the timing, also you will get a shitty ass idle along with even worse gas mileage. 20hp sounds about right. You gain 50hp on a Turbo but not on a n/a.

Also the rx8 is priced at just over $50,000, so yea im sure at that price the purchasers wont really be worrying about mpg

NashMan 11-21-2002 04:22 PM

hell 50hp on stock humm that hard to beleav as well even if it turbo na there is no chance turbo naaa not in less you have big massive amonts of boost and still useing stock exhuast

but stock power whiht after market exhuast naaaa i nothing to back this up but it just to much

the supra t gains about 35 hp on exhuast and 15 or so if it na

bcty 11-21-2002 05:55 PM

the RB full 3" back will net about 50 more hp.. and the true duals on the n/a will net about 30-35.. same with normal headers.. not too much of a diffrence going to true dual..

bcty 11-21-2002 05:57 PM

p.s - i set us up a account at Lorco so we can get a club discount 30% or more off products.. pm me and let me know if your intrested and i can tell ya what to do so others dont hear and screw our credit. :)

show me a dyno on this

ps my disscount at lorco is cool i get so much off cause of how much my friends/dad/and bro spend there

i think we are at like 17.000 to 20.000

do keep it secruti as i your diss count

hehehe tie to add ot the money i have spent going to get new pump and maybe some gauages

bcty 11-21-2002 08:37 PM

dont be stupid.. everyone knows that rotarys best friend is the exhaust..

From RB
The Turbo II High Performance Exhaust system incorporates a 3.15-inch (80mm) down pipe from the turbo outlet that mates to a presilencer section. From the head of the Y-pipe two 2.125-inch pipes extend to the ceramic wool-packed 409-stainless steel rear main mufflers. The bolt-on exhaust system increases horsepower approximately 32% - a 59 HP increase on a 1987 Turbo II RX-7!

And 28% on a n/a
This system is the culmination of considerable testing time here at Mazdatrix, using many different designs and pipe sizes. The result is by far the best HP from a bone-stock 86-92 13B non-turbo we have seen. We showed a 28% increase in rear wheel HP on a chassis dyno with this system. Torque is increased greatly from 2000 RPM on up, with the power peaking at 7000 RPM.

Enjoy

bcty 11-21-2002 08:40 PM

the RB system is not even 3" all the way back.. this causes more power loss and the restirction of the y-pipe adds some too.. if they went single muffler and got rid of the y-pipe obv then you might be looking at 65hp ish....

CanadianRX7 11-21-2002 10:28 PM

NOTE those are the maximun amount of hp you will gain in those conditions.

NashMan 11-22-2002 12:12 AM

well i am supriced on that score

but what i ment was cat back type thing but eh

bcty 11-22-2002 08:23 PM

cat back is very minimal on anything maybe 5 hp gain.. soo all you hondas with "300hp" with a cat back and a intake like my ass! :)

NashMan 11-22-2002 08:44 PM

all the stuff that posted about power is cat back as for down pipe ect don't kow the power you get

like greg whiht his rex will do some good when ever he gets his header and stuff

then he will see some power but the big thing is whih added jucie what whould be the power then

Racing the other night Half ways in a oil line burst and leaked.Didn't see it till it was too late.:( Time for a FC engine and better clamps.I own a rx rock for the next 6 months.:D I need to wait till spring for engine bay paint so I guess I'll leave the rock in it till I'm ready to swap in a bigger one. What a piss off.I just spent 3700 this year already with another 4000 more to go this winter.:( Should look and go good when ready(bring on the hondas):D

Rx racer 11-23-2002 08:06 PM

so you wan tot be turbo star eh

well turbo s run off of load don't matter what rpm you are at

the avage car get full boost 2000 to 2500 over idle

this can change becasue of trim size exhuast wheel size/ic/ ic pipeing/and exhuast

but tell you the truth i don't liek rx7's power band to much like you being pushed and the turq jump i don't liek as well

i can go inot more detail but don't go by looks drive one

i was think on buying one but i liek the power band in supra lot more then a rex

case supr ahas better respons and smoother power

case rex have no turq and when the turbo kick in it so feels like fasle power

ask any qestion you whould liek i can most likly answer all of them

ps that is why i think ian got rid of this cars casue the power jump was dumb power could not use it have the tiem

:2finger: Rx7's have torque.Just not as much as a 3L straight six which is hard to beat for torque because it's a straight 6.:flamemad:

NashMan 11-23-2002 08:06 PM

Niether I wish I had the money for either one.I will be buying a FC engine as soon as they have one in.I have all winter.:D

Rx racer 11-25-2002 10:14 PM

I found out the culprit that killed it..............a loose clamp on the front oil line to the new cooler.:flamemad: A $1.50 part costed me a $1000 engine.:bluemad: :flamemad: OH well I found one up here for $1090 from a 85 SE with low miles.:D Need to pick it up in two weeks. Then flames away.:D

NashMan 11-25-2002 10:36 PM
