I would use the FC as a DD or fun car and pull the SA out on the weekends.Especially with a street port job on it.You and Zulu both have ported first gens.I need one some day.Or a turbo first gen.Mine has the electronic ignition on it already from the factory so its a easy swap.Your SA must rip with that engine. Those streetported engines will go for about 150 000 kms before they need a rebuild. How many km's is on the engine? How much did you buy the SA for?I couldn't find a SA up here at the time or I would have considered it too. They are a bit uglier but 200 lbs lighter stock for stock.Mines got lots of stuff pulled too like the rats nest like yours.:evil

Rx racer 11-14-2002 09:38 PM

If you plan on a t2 engine swap you'll have to start by swapping the igniton to electronic then you'll have to cut the tranny tunnel hole longer to accomodate the longer FC tranny. The only straight across tranny swaps on the SA are SA trannies unfortunatly.

Good deal. This one costed $800 then I did everything else to it seeing as the rear rotor's apexs were fried.95km/hr top speed is nice.

Rx racer 11-14-2002 10:36 PM

I've put 3800 in to mine so far. When completed(Should be by spring)I will have around 8000 in it after I get my Racing Beat clutch and 13lb flywheel,Mazdatrix side skirts and new paint. Then I need to buy a place and another project. One that won't be so easy.

Zulu 11-16-2002 11:35 AM

I'm pondering doing a custom turbo setup on the rex this spring :)

Keeping the 13b that's in there, probably goto a TII intake manifold, use a standalone computer, tubular manifold from a guy in the states or a TII one with some adapter plates and a turbo off a TII, will be looking to put out around 9~10psi ... 250~ flywheel horsepower. That'll throw the car pretty damn good I think :D

At that point I'll put on the front nose and rear wing, probably need a new clutch :P and might have to move to a TII tranny.

Also need new shocks and then I'll get some nice wheels & tires.

Good way to double the cost of the car, haha ;)
