"BTW, was that you I drove by this evening around 8pm going southbound on Shelbourne just past Cedar Hill X. it was a grey S4 Rex with 3 people in it, but I think a girl was driving and I didn't get a look at the wheels. if not, do you know who owns it?"
Nope, not me. I've seen it around though. Does it have the 2+2 seats?

dood start with your exhaust system first without a freeflowing exhouast you aint gettin no where fast no matter how much shit you do to the intake exhaust shoudl take prioty IMO. go grab some nice RB headers with the 2.5" downpipe or watever fuck the headers we have no smog restriction here... do we? i dun think so anyways then grab a nice muffler. maybye a presilencer or watever it will be worth it. make sure you get one packed with steel wool instead of watever that other hit is if u want it to last more then a couple weeks :]

haha yea man thats my buddy steve that car is hella getto its fuckign hilarious. i havent seen him for a few weeks, steve plannign on putting bigger tires in teh back thats why the rear is all jacked up :] not just to look goofy. if we are talkign about the saem car?? grey hous epaint? hehehe
dont diis it tho max of about 50 bucks was put into that car K so beat that Quote: Originally posted by NanaimoRx-7 Yeah I saw that Chev (ugh), for a second I thought I had some competition in Pro7, then I saw the hood scoop. Ewwwww. Did you see that Rx-7 spin? I guess he was hoping the heavy stereo in the back would help off-set that monster engine upfront. He came in at 3100 Lbs on their funky scales, I flew in a 2374 lbs (Drivers in). On the way home from Vic I stopped at the scales and my car weighed in at 1000Kg, no driver, more than half tank of gas. The last time I went to the scales I was at 1000Kg with just enough fumes to get home. So figuring 7lbs/gal (at least that's what I've been told) and a half tank difference (5 Gal) from last time that puts me near 985 KG !!!!!! I'll wait til the tank's near empty again sometime and go verify with scales before I change my sig.
I'm pretty sure about my mini-sprint time, but someone mentioned lower. It's all about that damn hairpin, harder than it looks. Great first time out though... |

Weighed my car tonight, 2620 lbs. Is that fairly good?
Getting some new seats very soon, hope that shaves off a pound or two.

I'm sure 8 of us could solve the problem in no time. Have you pulled those plugs yet to listen to the chambers? I've thought that my engine was blown quite a few times, but it has always turned out to be a simple problem that was easily (read: cheap) fixed. If you can't get it going you might just have to come to Wal-Mart and give us directions to your house. Good Luck man.
EDIT: Couple of thoughts, secondaries stuck slighty open, cracked or leaking hose on the shutter valve, running only on trailing ignition....does the hissing noise kind of sound like a honking/goose choking on something, many people describe that noise when the shutter valve is faulty. Later.

when u say the seccondaries are stuck open u mean that its letting too much gas in and is causing the engine to flood??
U say u have to hold the gas to keep it from stalling right?!? Can it hold steady rpms at 1K or even less if u hold the gas a bit? If it cant the primary injectors much be fucked. Im thinking it is either a vacuum leak or a gas problem.
search rx7club.com there will be many answers to your question already posted.

Oh, I guess I'm just assuming that his friend's '85 isn't an -SE and it's on a carb. The secondary linkage on a carb can get pretty gummed up and it's easy for them to not close properly. Which would give the bad idle characteristics, because the engine would be getting waaay too much air for idle, but would be fine once the rev's were raised. However, I doubt you would be able to hear the secondaries open at idle, and this leads us back to vaccum leak. But it's still a good idea to check all the linkages for binding, and adjust the throttle cable so that WOT is truely wide open. You'd be surpised how many cars are running around with secondaries that don't open fully with the pedal to the floor.

Actually we are both wrong. It was 3564 with you in it.
But anyways, who cares how heavy your car is, this is an RX-7 chat.
