So, I think I'm going to do something stupid and get some nice R-compound tires for my summer rims. Specifically, these bad boys Toyo Proxes RA-1's 205/60/13's http://www.1010tires.com/images/tire...tire-large.jpg $760CND to my door. Reading around the net, these tires can last 12 xxx miles for street use, and seeing as how I've only put 35 xxx ish miles on my rex in the 4 years that I've owned it I don't think that lifespan is too bad for an R tire. Plus I've got my Motomaster 185's for the real street racing in the winter ! These will be installed the same day as my Racing Beat springs, Tokico blues and poly bushings. What do you think? |

They charge $50/hour labour which I think quite good price. :) I don't know why, but for some reason they always have RX-7 customers. I always see some RX-7s when I go there and I don't trust anywhere else in Victoria if you are dealing with rotaries. I'd say they are best rotary shop in Victoria. :) |
Any idea on prices for a new core with street port? Do they rebuild your core or supply you a new one and then you give them yours after the swap? Thanks for info. |

No Dice Well, sad to say but I don't think this meets going to happen. I've had a horrid week and need to get away from the house, so I think I'm going down to Vic on friday for the weekend. I need a break ! I don't think I've ever had to call off a meet before, this sucks. Excuses are as follows... BlackFC blew his engine and can't make it 2 cars from vic and one possibly from Campbell river (that's a sad turnout in my opinion, and I'd hate to bring everyone down for a bad meet, especially with the price of gas) Bcty doens't have a license and planned a meet without me. I have a life too, seriously I do. I don't think I'm going to be in town I think we should plan for a better date in the next month, give everyone lots of notice and have some sort of plan. Also increse the turnout by mailing the entire velocityrx7 address book, this should have been done for this one, but as I said before my week has been awful. I'd like to apoligize to anyone that booked a day off or turned down alternate plans for this. The last meet we had in Vic was great with a dozen cars turning out (Mmm drift through downtown Vic) that's the kind of thing I want to see. I think there's more that I wanted to say, but I lsot my train of thought (Dental plan, Lisa needs braces...Dental plan, Lisa needs braces...Dental plan, Lisa needs braces...). Sorry again. We will have a pack of rotaries prowling the streets soon. 1.1-1.3 liters of raw loud annoying flame shooting wackyness. Mmmm |
Yeah, sounds good man. Looks like i'll be doing some work on the FC anyways. I cant wait to go drifting with some of you guys. I gotta find some used tires for the rear of the car. I've drifted so much with them they are almost falling apart!! Evan |
hehe, I've got my stock rims with tires still at my house. 5 bolt pattern, if your interested. Or can take just the tires if ya want, they got lots of tread left on them, and are the amazing brand name CONCORDE! I dunno, would be fine for wrecking if ya need. :) |
