Yellow wax beans are the single greatest vegetable on earth. I'll let you know when the farmers bring some by.:)

Going to be moving from Kits to North Burnaby(parkcrest), Any suggestion on restaurants? So far the only one I know i like in the area is Anton's (i'm a fatty that eats the whole meal)

Been to both multiple times, I would go with Le Crocodile for a birthday.

+1
Le Croc was by far better experience and food, absolutely blown away.
West was just meh for me, been there 3 times. Probably never going again.

Adorkami 04-12-2016 03:35 PM

Another option you may want to look at for your SO birthday is 5 sails. they have good food, excellent service and a great view

totally diff experience
West can be a tad more casual, le Croc is more traditional and classic to say the least.

You can walk into West and enjoy lunch, drinks or just desserts, whereas Le Croc, you definitely would be making a reservation for a particular date.

However for dinner at West I found myself spending more and being less satisfied than at Le Croc. That's my personal experience though.

Welcome to the hood.
I'm just down by Kensington and Halifix.

X-Site for cheap eats.
Hakkaku for not-terrible ramen.
Cotto has decent pasta.
Cockney's Monday - Wednesday = AYCE fish and chips

Their happy hour is amazing (11AM-3PM)

Four Winds Brewery in Delta for lunch. They have tacos now! Had four tacos, the cauliflower was mind blowing. Never thought of having a cauliflower taco but they hit it out of the park. The Al Pastor and Roasted Mushroom were awesome as well.

Washed it all down with a pint of Necterous sour beer. Probably one of the better lunches I have had in a while.

9/10

Cauliflower tacos... do want to try!

Liquid_o2 04-14-2016 03:11 PM

They were roasted and turned into a sort of puree. Sounds odd, but so tasty.

Hondaracer 04-14-2016 05:18 PM

I'm not much of a congee connoisseur but if I am looking for a congee fix I usually go to Congee Noodle House on Broadway or Double Double in Richmond.
I also drove by this place called "Kongee Dinesty" but never tried it before, looks interesting as they specialize in it.

keifun 04-15-2016 09:07 PM

Shikisai @ Blundell Garden City Mall Richmond in my neighborhood

They renovated the place. Food and menu had changed but still tastes great.
$19 Teishoku was enough for two people (sashimi, sushi, tempura, croquette, miso soup, gomae, sunomono, fish, rice, dessert)

Japanese people owned and operated for the longest time.

The waitress today was pretty cute too.

8.5/10

Congee place?

Here you go.

Tai Hing Congee and Noodle House 大興粥麵之家
8075 Park Rd

it's a hole in the wall, shitty ass decor, no one is there during normal hours, it's for early forks who wants something in and out.

SUPER economical and I've been going there for eons. They do have odd hours (only mornings etc)

Kongee Dinesty
Address: 150-9020 Capstan Way, Richmond, BC V6X 3V9

it's close by Pataman place. Very decent food, nice new place, tons of congee things + other stuff to try. price is fair esp when it's a nicer place.
