The best soup dumplings (xiao long bao) is from Long's noodle house.

Life changing.

Went to Anacora this weekend.

Glacier Platter for 2

it was good, nothing special. The bigeye tuna sashimi was the highlight

Lobster risotto with hazelnut and grilled octopus

Grill octopus was tender and flavorful, charred added smokiness to the dish.
Lobster risotto was good, but the rice was a touch firm for my liking

Grill Sea Bream

Perfectly grilled would go back for the fish alone

Lucuma Parfait

good balance of sweet and tartness, don't actually know what lucuma is suppose to taste like. tasted like guava to me.

I would definitely be back, to try their other dishes. However, will be skipping their cold platter for sure.

Dixie's BBQ

10/10

Incredible BBQ. We had ribs and brisket. Sketchy part of town, but worth the trip.

Last time I was there I found the ribs to be very dry. Brisket was awesome though, and their fried chicken was pretty good too. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day for the ribs.

We'll see if they're consistent. I'm going back soon. I'm bringing the wife because she regrets not coming out the first time. She loves ribs and bbq.

Unfortunately can't say that for the rest of the menu. Did not like anything else I tried except the XLB, the Drunken Chicken was okay.

XLB's around town are all getting pretty good, hard to pick the "best" now. Lin's is solid, Ramen House on W. 4th makes a good one. Even Dinesty and Peaceful are pretty good. The Crab XLB at Top Shanghai in Richmond is delicious too.

My favourite of all time was this hole in the wall called "The Place" on Granville, big and juicy XLB's but I think the owners (mom and pop store) retired.

Yeah, when I go to Long's, I usually stick to only certain things I know I'll like.

Had the XLB at Legend in Coquitlam and was pretty good too!

I wouldn't put Dinesty up there in the same league though.

I like their crispy rice with salted egg dish they have. It's probably super unhealthy but it's pretty damn good.

Toshi Sushi

9/10

It's a tiny place on 16rh and Main. We got there 20 min before opening, and there was already someone lined up. He was visiting from Montana, and his AirBnB host recommened the place. Service is excellent. All the nigiri was super-fresh. Would go back there again, but they are always super-busy.

Went to Long's today,

I actually didn't like the crispy rice with salted egg dish.. saw a lot of people order it today though. I prefer regular rice krispies more, lol.

The beef wrap, XLB, beef noodles, drunken chicken, and chili wonton was good.
Drunken chicken was average.

Beef wrap is definitely better than Wang's and Peaceful's restaurant.
XLB; not something I order often. Friend said it tasted better than Dinesty and Top Shanghai..
Beef noodles was probably my favourite, lots of flavour in the soup.

Averaged $20/person, would've been less if we didn't order the salted egg yolk rice. That dish was $15 ...

I went to Meet about 6 months ago. Agree that there was nothing there that would bring me back. 50% of the meals I eat are vegetarian, but their execution and flavour profiles were off. I would give it a 4/10. Don't know why it is always busy.

Eat chicken wraps on howe and robson
10/10

This is my favourite food truck to order from. I normally get the hoisin chicken wrap
Crispy green onion pancake as the wrap with seasoned chicken, lettuce and hoisin sauce. Pretty simple but so delicious at a reasonable price for $8. Doesn't break the bank and take long like moms grilled cheese sandwich which is down the block lol

Whenever i feel like eating but dont want to wait for them to make it i would send them a message on their fb business page to let them know to make it first and they would have it ready for me by the time i get there

Me too! Forgot to mention that

Just ate Tsukumen ramen at Taishoken for lunch today. 8/10. Kind of wish it had some more vegetables. other than that it was pretty good!
I think i prefer to eat my ramen like this lol
Never had this dish at any other joint - any recommendations?

Wooden Spoon in White Rock.

Had the Spoon Burger, added crispy jalapeños which were fresh and breaded in house solid 9.

Wife's Tequila Chicken Salad got soggy quick and was a disappointment to her. She ended up snagging a few bites of my burger and decided it will be a burger joint moving forward.

Kids area in the back kept my children occupied until the food came 10/10

Overall 8.5/10
