"How long have you been away from Canada?"
"15 minutes"
"what was the purpose of the trip? - Did you pick anything up?"
"filled up on gas, and picked up some cables"
"what is the total value of goods you are bringing to the border?"
"$2.50 USD"
"Alright sir can you please pull up at and come in please"
me thinking - WTF??!?!
and yes wtf I actually got brought in for $2.50 USD before. I guess the guy was bored. I counted pennies and dimes... I shoulda just screwed it and asked "you guys take visa for 20 cents?"
LOLOL i came back yesterday with $183 worth of supplements without getting taxed, this is like my 5th time with over $150 in value
yeah it was ridiculous. I thought that maybe they wanted me to show proof that it was $2.50, or maybe they wanted to check my car while they were at it... but nope - I just walked in and they asked for money.
I always wondered how people come back without getting checked. I see cars just drive off without going into the customs to declare anything. It's pretty obvious most of the guys, aside from the ones working there, is picking up something. I want to know their excuse!!

Just tell them the truth, depending on how nice the canadian customs are, they'll let you off to a certain extent.
I came back with a cat converter and got through no problem

nah, maybe the guy was new and was told that "all goods declared needs to be taxed", or they did see something in my car they wanted to double check without me knowing. I don't blame them, they were just doing their job and it only took another 5 minutes or so
yea usually if I answer all their questions I dont ever get asked to go inside
most I ever spent and didn't get taxed was 460ish

Totally varies. I've had several $200 items go by fine, but one time got taxed badly on a $150 item... something to the tune of 25%, so I paid an extra $50 on that. Always had receipts on hand too.
Also I don't really trust that Can-AM, I tried it once and my mileage was noticeably bad with it. I go to their Chevron all the time now instead.

I was honest with them, I even sound extra nice with sirs and mam's. But they never let me come back without dropping some money!

I find the quality of 89 gas in Canada to be better than the Chevron 89 in Point Roberts.
how? how can you quantify the quality of the gas
and even if that were true (which is crazy when you think of all the millions of cars in the US using this gas, they all run just fine - the argument that cdn gas is superior is so stupid) put in 91, or even 92 for A LOT cheaper still

Speaking of point roberts, they have the best fried chicken in the marketplace for like 2 dollars for 2 leg and thigh, and grey goose is 30 dollars for a 2'6 Posted via RS Mobile

Problem is trying to smuggle the vodka back over the border without getting checked.
