Here's a Family Portrait!
Tight room, everyones practically against the wall, hard to get any shots without going < 50mm. I'd love to re-shoot this with more room! |

IMO, when you're going with a portrait like this, everything needs to be either perfect or everything needs to be a little skewed and off. If one brother's fit is perfect, then the other has to as well...or vice versa. If dad's tie is lopsided...then mom should have something wrong with her outfit as well.
Just my opinion...I love the concept but I think the poses need a little work and the lighting is strange. Since the pretty girl in the picture is right in the middle, she needs to...go bigger with the pose.
Great idea, though, Tom. Love the concept, seriously.

85mm F1.2 if you're looking at Canon

A lot of used 1.2L at Map Camera for about $1300. I'm so tempted. Brand new 85 1.8's are $430, which is way higher than back home.

I was trying mixed lighting because I wanted a bit of that green oldish spill around, but not on the back wall, oh well.

I think it's a very nice picture. The green spill works and it gives it a slight lomography color effect which is very suitable for that picture. It's a little awkward how the mom isn't holding anything and sitting so normally but it adds contrast to the other family members and makes people look at the picture longer.
