We're gonna need that 9.5 to resign the twins and the lower salary cap next year. :)

Team Luongo FTW :haha:

PS RIP LB

damn dial up.

they blew out the devils 5-0 last year and the wild 6-2

I havent followed this thread during the game, but I assume its full of lots of "OMG PUT BURROWS WITH THE SEDINS!!11 HE's ON PACE FOR 164 GOALS11!!!!oNE!!"

What a great game. Fantastic atmosphere in the Garage...everyone was on their feet for most of the game. When Rypien scored that goal, people went totally nuts.

But the best thing I saw all game was players sticking up for their teammates. Hansen isn't much of a scrapper but damn, he went after Langkow with no fear. Phaneuf's hit wasn't dirty but he'll think twice next time he goes after one of our skill players. Great, great teamwork.

jigga250 10-09-2008 10:35 PM

I just realized the nucks scored all their goals on the rush/counterattack.

good speed in the transition game

Why is Keenan keeping kipper in net? Why do I have a feeling that he will trade him? lol..

Keenan can't trade him he's only the coach Sutter is the GM. If it comes down to Kipper or Keenan Iron Mike will be the first one sent packing.

Interesting thought, but I don't think a Sedins and Burrows line would be efficient use of personnel. Burrows and Kesler work together well and are an awesome pair. Just like the Sedins are. And, I think just about anybody can play on those two lines. So why make one awesome line to take apart another. That didn't come out right, but you know what I mean.

goo3 10-09-2008 10:57 PM

why is no one talking about demitra? he makes that second line work.

AzNightmare 10-09-2008 10:59 PM

wow what a game. Is Rypien a really good fighter? He's only 170lbs or something. He must be really reallyy good at fighting... I haven't seen him fight before.

Amazing that before the game started, and after the game is over, there is 4 pages of post. That's 160 posts about... This thread is gonna easily go up to like 300-400 pages. lollolol

Just some random comments:

Burrows had a great game. Wished he had the hat trick. And Luongo with the shutout was great!! I didn't like how Bertuzzi was booed though.

I actually LOL-ed when Jerome got taken down (I forgot who) with no penalty call and then he got pissed and went on a rampage to take out Kesler and some other Canucks.

I didn't like CBC's commentator, it sounded bland and monotoned and some parts weren't well commentated. And that bad commercial cut when Luongo was exchanging shots with that Flamer and then Hansen jumped in. Fists flying and then commercial cut. wtf?

All 6 of the goals today were beauties. Well maybe not Ohlund's, but him being right there at the doorstep, rushing up to the play was good on it's own. I could watch Burrow's 2nd goal over and over again. What a nice shot.

Pyatt was disappointing in the beginning again, I was already rolling my eyes when he kept losing control of the puck early on and then went to the penalty box. But that play where he went in from the outside and just powered in was nice. Gave Ohlund a wide open net. I also liked how Pyatt used his size more later in the game.

And it's good to see Henrik shooting more now instead of just looking for the perfect pass. Bernier seems pretty good. Good guy to have on the first line and will stand up for the Sedins.

Hope they keep this up.

Hondaracer 10-09-2008 11:05 PM

^ excellent point it may be that it was overshadowed by others play but he played with almost zero mistakes

Seamo 10-09-2008 11:15 PM

fuck i have kipper on my fantasy pool!!! why cant it be 0 - 0 until shootout LOL

no he won't. you guys can call him celine as much as you want, but he's a solid player. 10 out of 10 times, he will always through a big hit.

iPee 10-09-2008 11:38 PM

so whats the new song

It was Ohlund!

LaiD 10-09-2008 11:49 PM

Great game. Good to see that everyone was sticking up for each other especially when Hansen went Mike Tyson on Langkow.

I disagree with the Pyatt haters, he's needed on the DRP line for sure. Big body, gives more room for Demitra and Raymond to work their magic.

Burrows was possessed. Fitting coincidence that he scored 2 goals x 14 (his #) = 28 (Bourdon's #).

6thGear. 10-09-2008 11:53 PM

wow. great game tonite. demitra is damn fast, awesome vision on the ice for his passes. but im surprised by a lot of things, bernier was awesome tonight, he deserves that spot on the first line, hansen standing up for luongo, but mostly, rypien not scrapping tonite?? wow.

keitaro 10-09-2008 11:56 PM

hi5-ive 10-10-2008 12:03 AM

YES CAPTAIN LUUUUUUUUUUUUU shutout

YES

Renthal 10-10-2008 12:16 AM

damn good game and i was cheering through most of it
o'brian got a lil scrappy out there too with bertuzzi which is sweet..
and crawford made a great point that now that there are other guys on the team that can take the role of the fighter, ohlund can throw his weight around more.
i lol'd when they introduced crawford, and he was joking about LA :D

bieksa had a brutal fall down at the end there and coughed up the puck pretty good..

stuff99 10-10-2008 12:42 AM

Basically the lease/agreement ended. The company that owned the rights wanted more money, CBC didn't want to pay it so CTV purchased the rights.
