He was barely booed. Most people in this town still like Big Bert. I'm still a fan.

It'll die down once the Canucks lose a game.

I am tired of seeing people bring up that statement on every damn Hockey message board I frequent just b/c they may not agree with someone else's opinion. What makes you so well informed and more knowledgeable than others about Hockey? I’m dying to know. PLEASE, inform us... what are we missing? what dont we know? I hope its not b/c you've played every single EA NHL game.

Jackwimmer 10-10-2008 04:17 AM

I don't know how many of you have seen the Canucks in person in street clothes on a regular basis but Ohlund is probably the strongest Canuck. He's not the biggest or heaviest Canuck, but in terms of muscle mass he's jacked & he added on a bit of muscle this summer too.

Bernier on the other hand, needs to lower his body fat % a bit lol, imagine how much more of a beast he'd be with less fat and more muscle. :haha:

winson604 10-10-2008 06:27 AM

lol tons of people got kicked out for smoking last night

They're soccer fans, whaddya want? Joe even said, when McCarty pointed out that the cup was upside down, "Hey, we're soccer guys!"

Actually, the whole band has been well-known as soccer nuts for year, I dunno whose idea it was to have them playing for a hockey game... you'd think one of the first questions one would ask when hiring a band is, "What do you know about hockey?"

caronimo 10-10-2008 07:58 AM

it was awesome how bernier stuck up for his teammate and fought phanuef. they are more tougher than last year.

Pyatt does suck for a 2nd liner. He's only good IF he uses his body. IF he does, that's when it will help Demitra and Raymond.

I met Brashear in downtown once...he was freaking huge and his fists/hands are like the size of someones head.

i told my girlfriend about his new nickname, taylor pylon and she fucking loves it. she also calls willie mitchell 'willsho" because she met him when he first came to vancouver and he introduced himself and she couldnt remember his name... she called me and said "i met the new canuck... i think hes french, willsho or something"... so last night she said "if he doesnt pull up his socks and get a little tougher, i'm going to call him no-show"

"what do we know... we're soccer guys"... yeah, but you're playing an nhl concert!!! obviously in it for the cash, hey?

they should have spent some real money and got the tragically hip to play... big fan base in detroit AND big time hockey fans.

Kagemusha 10-10-2008 09:27 AM

If Pyatt scores a hat trick a few games into the season, most of you will be willing to suck his cock :p

lacubrious1 10-10-2008 09:31 AM

Will pyatt be the new whipping boy? just like Cowan and Jan Bulis before him.

anyways great game last night, I loved the canucks character, they seemed not only faster but tougher. Hope they can keep it up the rest of the season.

kudos to the Canucks organization for putting together a great tribute for Luc Bourdon

:werd: It's apparent that these team has the talent and passion to compete with the best of them.

The question now is more of: do they have the endurance to last 82 games? And, when things go wrong and they hit a bad stretch, how well do they recover, bounce back?
