it doesn't really matter who we play
if we keep up our play and do what we've been doing, we should be able to take down any opponent

MR_BIGGS 03-31-2009 11:00 AM

I like everyone else like to see who we match up well against and who would be a good first round matchup. The way the Canucks are playing right now, a first round exit would be a disappointment, especially how they are positioning themselves. At the end of the day the higher we finish, the less chance we have to play the cup contenders such as Sharks and Wings early on ...so we take 3rd - we have to go through teams ranked 4-8 before we would play wings or sharks. With that being said, yes one game at a time...but i think bring on the hawks, preds, blues, ducks, flames, any of those cause if the canucks go deep - there going to have to go thru most of these...

But since we love to analyze - Don't want to play the Flames..I'm not 100% sold yet that they are a choke job - although it makes sense with Keenan behind the bench..

but I'll say - lets play the Hawks...experience over youth for this series...hands down!

Oh and the Ripper is back in the line up tonight!

He might need some painkillers after 2night - Wild got a 6'8 260lbs in the line up//

If you're talking about Boogard he is doubtful for tonights game due to an upper body injury.

If the Canucks use their size to control the game, and keep Gaborik in close check this should be a W and our first taste of the NW Division lead tonight.

It's only mathematically possible... but the chances of that happening are ridiculously low. I mean, not only would they need to lose all of their remaining games, it means pretty much every single team below them would need to win all of their remaining games. Not going to happen.

Same for Canucks. We haven't clinched a playoff spot yet, but it's pretty much impossible for us to not make it this year at this point.

AzNightmare 03-31-2009 02:11 PM

I'm just hoping Canucks make it past the first round. Sadly, I'm gonna miss most of it because I won't be in town. Well, not exactly sure, I'll need to wait until they announce the playoff game dates.

He's been out lately for personal reasons, not an injury.

I know that but this guy is a walking piece of glass. Salo gets injured all the time but his role isn't a physical grinder which Rypien is. He'll probably throw a punch and get injured again.

Canucks vs Wild games are always a snooze fest. Very uneventful and low scoring.
