obviously bs....they're on pace for like a few more points than their career-bests.....playing them less in the last 10 or even 20 games of the season isn't going to change their points enough to affect how much they get paid. Anyone who believes they would risk the success of the team so that they *might* be able to pay the twins 100k less is an idiot.

Surprised nobody has mentioned this but with St. Lous losing tonite, the Canucks have all but clinched a playoff spot!!!! Even if St. Lous wins all their games and the Nucks lose all of theirs, they'll have identical records and I believe the season series is tied at 2. Not sure what the NHL uses as a tie breaker but the Nucks have scored more goals and given up fewer then St. Lous too!

Although the Canucks are 5-0 when coming back home from a long roadtrip...I say it's going to be a close one - I'll say 4-3 Nucks..

I don't get it when ppl say this.

It's a tough game when we play a high seed team like DET or SJ. It's a tough game when we're playing a mid-level team like STL, NSH, ANA or CBJ. It's a tough game when play low-seed teams like PHX, LA etc. because of our penchant to losing teams of low stature. :confused:

lol, sorry, its not a shot at you, but I just find it a little humourous when I continually see "tough game tonight" "or this next game's gonna be important." Those words have been said for every game since late-January/early-February that its completely devoid of meaning.

Nonetheless... hopefully the team continues its rythm.

It's not devoid of meaning - and I don't think it's been said for every game since late January. Those two games vs the Avs coming up are not going to be tough games nor will you hear me say they will be tough games. The fricken Vancouver Giants could beat them!
