not to be gay, but i'm pretty sure the nucks aren't going to win the cup. However, they will do some damage in this series..

Harvey Specter 04-13-2009 08:41 PM

I think the Canucks have a good shot to make it into the Western Finals if they beat the Blues. Yes I know I'm skipping the 2nd round but if the Canucks can beat the Blues, they can beat almost any team in the West.

Hondaracer 04-13-2009 09:33 PM

I agree but it will be tough.. afterall if the sharks/wings then it will be different as they are in a notch above the blues..so beating st louis doesn't mean we'll walk right past detroit or sj or hell even the winner of cgy/chi

Grandmaster TSE 04-14-2009 10:07 AM

growing mine tomorrow as well :bigthumb:

Let the playoffs begin.

The Vancouver Canucks went through their final tuneup today and are anxious for the puck to drop Wednesday night in their Stanley Cup series opener against the St. Louis Blues.

"I've been looking forward to tomorrow night for a long time," said captain Roberto Luongo. "I reminisced a bit about two years ago and how fun and exciting the whole thing was. I'm just really anxious to get started."

Although he turned 30 earlier this month, Luongo has only two playoff series on his resume, both coming in 2007 with the Canucks. He is extremely hungry to add to his body of post-season work.

"There is only one thing that matters to me and that's winning the Cup," Luongo continued. "That's all I care about. We have a good team and we have a chance to do something. We're focused on a big game tomorrow, night, winning four and moving on. It's going to be exciting once the puck drops."

Port McNeill native Willie Mitchell says winning the Cup has consumed him for a long time.

"It's what I play for, it's everything I've dreamed about," he noted. "You have to believe you have a shot and we think we do. The bigger picture is to bring the Cup to an organization that has never had it and to the city and the province.

"There are more than enough reasons and I could go on forever. It's going to be a tough, tough road but if we play to our capabilities, we have a shot."

Faceoff time for Game 1 on Wednesday is 7 p.m.
can u feel the excitement?
