I was wonder what you guys would call a successful season? Winning the cup? Winning the Western conf. finals? Or making it into the post season? Or would you look at the entire season and call it a success even if we lose tomorrow? |

There's a bright future for this team and thats something we havn't had in years!!! |
^ Totally agree. All the die hards fan who watched almost every game this season have to call this season a major success. I'm so proud of this team no more the outcome tomorrow and the future is indeed bright for the franchise. |
the city here expects the holy grail, as do I, after many years of waiting and waiting, i feel that this team is go big or go home. I will never doubt the team, thus i start to make stupid excuses such as...ever since the britney concert, the ice as never been as great to skate on. |
i think the announcer said, the canucks havent lost 3 straight games for months. so losing next game shouldnt be an issue. Game 7 is where we need to focus. the shots on goal shows chicago is digging hard. We do a good job keeping them out, and when luongo needs to shine he comes through. from what I have seen, the goals against us, were mostly mistakes, or our defense isnt in the right position, bad giveaways. Even when we are ahead, we do sit back, and play defensive. we should always be putting the pressure on. |
I'm extremely proud of this team this year. It's one of the best looking teams we've had for a long while now. It's a shame however that if they don't get the job done this year, we might not have such a good chance anymore since so many players are UFA's next year. I'd actually be very happy if they just made it to the 3rd round. |

98-0-0. Anything else is epic fail. Oh yeah, and a perfect pre-season too... otherwise, blow up the team. Literally. And shoot Gillis in the nads. |

Worry about game 7, WHEN and IF you get to game 7... the Canucks' only concern needs to be winning game 6. Take nothing for granted. |

Couple of ways to look at it. If judging from the beginning of the season where many people didn't even expect us to make the playoffs, then this season was a big success, winning our division and making it to the second round of the playoffs. However, based on what we learned of the team as the year went on and the potential we had, then the season would be ending in a slight disappointment. Certainly not an epic fail. I think if we made the conference finals, then we would have met expectations. Anything further would be exceeding expectations. |
I think it's a success from the point of view everyone wrote them off before the season started (by everyone, I mean mainstream media personalities).... However, with 1 more year left in Luongo and having spent money on Mats... still having Ohlund... I feel like the time is now... otherwise we are back to rebuilding a little bit... trying to groom Schneider if Luongo takes his act elsewhere... replacing Mats with Cody Hodgson... you know? Plus I'm frustrated because there's been nothing to brag about to anyone in the entire history of the team let alone the time I've been alive and watching for. Sick and tired of even Flames fans being able to say they have ONE cup ya know? |
So if we don't make it out of the 2nd round, and Luongo decides this team isn't worth sticking around for after next season, where are we? Our team with no Luongo is pretty mediocore isn't it? |
I thought the Canucks would make the playoffs before the starting of the season. I didn't think we would win our division but I did think we would make it in anywhere from the 5-8 spot. Based on that this season has been a success so far. However, once the season stared to unfold and to learn the potential of our team I would say anything other then making it to the Western Conference finals would be a failure. If we lose to the Hawks I would still be behind the Canucks 100% but the effort I saw in this series would not make me happy. Really we haven't played well this series except for game 3 and moments from other games. Still this has been the farthest we made it since "the run" but I want and expect more. |
I found this over on the Canucks' forum, it definitely made me feel better after last night's game so I thought I'd share it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF2prRwzyKA GO CANUCKS GO!! |
vancouver is not a happy city this week. |

Just in game 5 alone, you can see is is a stide behind everyone else. He doesn't hit or play as physical as he should be. There was one instance where the Chicago D man was ripe for the hitting, and instead, Pylon kinda sideswipes him on the side without the puck and the D man was able to turn away with the puck. A couple of times he was given the puck in the slot and he was barely able to get the shot away. Prime scoring chances and his hands turn to stone. He is taking away a valuable spot that Hodgson or Grabner should have next year, if they resign the Pylon. |
lets fucking GO canucks.. gonna have to take it to them fucking hard tommarow night and give it everything weve got, building a lead would be nice as well |
What a joke. Boston is winning and their fans are throwing crap and towels onto the ice. Hmmmm.... Oh, and Ken Hodgson lost some of the respect I have for him. Time to throw that pen back at him. |
