I was wonder what you guys would call a successful season? Winning the cup? Winning the Western conf. finals? Or making it into the post season? Or would you look at the entire season and call it a success even if we lose tomorrow? | I would consider it successful if Canucks can get to the 3rd round. Of course winning the cup will be the EPIC WIN, but 3rd round, something they haven't done since 1994, will be enough to keep me satisfied and feel the team is acutally going forward. Quote:

No matter what way you look at it, it's winning season!! at the beg of the year no one thought that the nucks were even going to make the playoffs little alone win the division. Yes were all pissed off right now on the way the last 3 games went but we did something that we havn't done in years.
There's a bright future for this team and thats something we havn't had in years!!! | I don't know how far off in the future you're talking about?
Since the 2003 playoffs when Canucks lost to the Wild, I haven't seen a better oppurtunity to get the cup since. I'm pretty sure next season, the teams gonna be quite diffferent in terms of roster. Canucks could possibly go in rebuilding mode again. Quote:

Plus I'm frustrated because there's been nothing to brag about to anyone in the entire history of the team let alone the time I've been alive and watching for. Sick and tired of even Flames fans being able to say they have ONE cup ya know? | Not to mention, they beat Canucks in the first round by cheating when Joel Otto kicked the puck in during Game7 OT. Fortunately for them, instant reply wasn't around back then. Quote:

So if we don't make it out of the 2nd round, and Luongo decides this team isn't worth sticking around for after next season, where are we? Our team with no Luongo is pretty mediocore isn't it? | Most likely, yes. And I have a feeling Luongo won't be sticking around...
Canucks simply had chances to win the games.
Although a retarded game strategy, they almost pulled through a 1-0 win to make it a 3-1 series lead... but they didn't.
There's no momentum going for Canucks right now. Especially not only from the bitter loss of game 4, but now they can't even win at home.
So realistically, there is acutally no momentum going in Canucks direction right now. And they are playing in Chicago now...
I'll have to be bullshitting if I were to say I wasn't worried. |
