I know they're getting rid of aircare soon..I just don't know the exact date.

2011 or something?

lilaznviper 10-31-2008 04:00 PM

i think they will but i think the whole point of aircare is to get rid of the old cars that emit a ton of pollution

I will believe it when I see it actually gone for good.

I have a hard time believing the government getting rid of a cash cow like aircare.

Great68 10-31-2008 04:30 PM

They'll never get rid of AirCare.

sort of true, but the main point of having aircare is for the government to make money.

Shun Izaki 10-31-2008 04:41 PM

If it was really for the environment, they wouldn't charge for it.

I mean fuck... I've seen stock Celsiors we brought in pass like crazy, but the one time I bring in a crashed 240, it fails miserably, and then proceeds to stall and shoot fireballs.

MegaMx 10-31-2008 05:01 PM

I hope they don 't get rid of it. So many cars out there using oil as gas (jokingly but implying a TON of blue smoke) Some of the cars you can barely see through the fog they crate of blue smoke

Rikaro 10-31-2008 05:14 PM

^
what? isn't blue smoke from coolant from leaking head gaskets?

maxx 10-31-2008 05:26 PM

they are getting rid of aircare by 2012 - for sure.

blue means buring oil :)
could be a bad piston ring

usually headgasket leak or coolant in the oil is white smoke iirc

hamhead 10-31-2008 07:04 PM

try putting a hole in the beginning of your cat to put more oxygen in

Gh0stRider 10-31-2008 07:11 PM

xxthanhxx 10-31-2008 07:22 PM

if aircare is gone
there goes a reliable source for car mileage

bossxx 10-31-2008 07:38 PM

far from it

they dont check your dial, and many times data entries are incorrect

CarFax flagged my moms car because it went fron 97k to 67k one year :haha:

danned 10-31-2008 10:46 PM

if you ram, why don't we set up a team and watch it ..............nice and easy

Alatar 10-31-2008 10:53 PM

White smoke = headgasket leak (coolant burning in combustion chambers) or brake fluid getting sucked in through the master cylinder through the brake booster into the intake.

Blue smoke = bad piston rings and/or worn valve seals.

Black smoke = running REALLY rich.

Mild white misty smoke - not billowing clouds = running slightly rich - usually when cold. NORMAL.

Water dripping out your tailpipe... tighten that sphincter, you slack-ass!

And I personally hope they don't get rid of the aircare program either. If anything, alter it; but don't remove it.

EcLiPsEbOi 11-01-2008 01:25 AM

Actually AirCare as a company/program doesn't make any money for the government. It's a self funded program, the money that people use to pay for the tests and such, gets put back into the program used to pay for the employees, maintenance etc. stuff like that to keep itself running.

I don't even have a comment for such a stupid & retarded post, you have no clue about aircare & what seems like life in general.

My suggestion to you is to just go crawl back into your mom, stay there and make the world a happier place.

Nvasion 11-01-2008 08:57 AM

It doesn't. The company that does the testing though, does make a guaranteed profit. The government has to cover any short falls.
