1.25 hours to get from Admirals Walk to VMP/ Peatt Rd. Nutty.

ness_71 12-17-2008 06:28 PM

Don't take backroads in the snow, ever. Even if they say the highway is practically stopped, it's better than actually stopped.

metal 12-17-2008 07:08 PM

^lol +1 Took me an hour to get from Royal Oak to Sayward on the highway >_<

jigga250 12-17-2008 07:27 PM

Taken a few min ago. Don't think im getting it out for awhile.

tamazoid 12-17-2008 07:55 PM

Haha, I seem to get by ok through backroads. Unless there's a step hill or something... But I plan my route ahead so I know where to go through.

Also, I was driving by a blue Miata with his top down! It was around 6:30 when the snow was coming down pretty good. Trying to be a hero or something! lol...

I've decided just to keep an ice scraper, sunblock, an umbrella, a shovel and road salt in my trunk for the weather around here.

I saw that disaster and I took the Royal Oak exit and went through cordova bay and along the farm roads. It was all good until I got stopped by what I thought was a huge line of cars merging on to the highway, but turned out to be a not so long line of cars and people getting pulled out of the ditch. I was panicing when all the trucks started to go around everyone in the ditch, and I couldnt see what was going on AND I was running out of gas. I DID get up the hill to get home this time though, yay all seasons!

Winter driving here really does suck, the moisture makes a HUGE difference.

Anyone know of a chiropractor who specializes in shovel related injuries?

I went out yesterday in the bronc and did a few rescues. Had to take the backroads to get to some ppl, traffic was just stupid. My trucks wicked in this stuff. Went down "Donkey trail" near durance lake road and had to pull trucks out backwards on ice, on a hill!! LOL.. It was so icy that i got out of the truck and bailed on my ass.

After that I brought my water skiies out on durance lake road with a girlfreind and went "ice skiing" hahaha. Gotta do a few pull outs after work tonight, should be good times....

BMW 325i + LSD + Studded Snow Tires + Weight in the Trunk = Unstoppable :)

ostampflee 12-18-2008 02:43 PM

I'm quite surprised how well the Civic does in the snow once it starts moving. Damn wife keeps stealing my truck :(

My driveway has been shovelled and salted for the second time.... I'm not sure if my plan to make it wider next year is such a good idea now :)

TheSmokeShow 12-18-2008 04:51 PM

Qualicum as of today:

^Normally there is a step down to the drive way... now it steps up into snow.

Cars were abandoned all over the place, even blocking some roads.

Victoria SiR 12-19-2008 09:21 AM

There was this one older 3 series we used to see at our snow rallies with studded rears, thing was bad ass.
