How was it? Planning to switch majors and cpsc is on the list. Planning to do a transfer to either SFU or UBC. I would've applied straight to sfu if it weren't for my courses dropping me like a mofo.

I've done some basic programming with C++ in 1st yr engineering.

I tried transferring into UBC, GPA for guaranteed admission if you are not in the engineering program at langara is 3.3. I had 3.0.

I could have gotten into SFU but they found out that I dropped out of UBC and required a 0.5 higher gpa than average which is 3.3 as well.

It is better if you get into the eng. program in Langara as 2.8 is the guaranteed GPA for UBC.

I took CPSC 1150 and 1155. I had CPSC 1150 with Ming Wu, got a A-. DO NOT take it with Darbandi. Ming Wu is great prof. I had CPSC 1155 with Elena, she was alright not the best. You only need to do 1150 or 1155, just do one. I regret taking both.

CPSC requires a lot of time for the Labs assignments where you code for programs. I still have my labs...

*Students will only be allowed to repeat a maximum of 2 of the 9 required courses for admission. If you have attempted more than 2 repeats, your best two repeats will be used to calculate your Business admission average.
This is for SFU. I withdrew from math and failed econ. Math counts as one repeat as i will take it in fall, then im repeating econ now aswell. So that would have been my 2 repeats.

If i withdraw from another class now how does my average work out when i repeat my third course? Fock wish i didnt mess around first semester. :QQ:

withdrawing from a class doesnt not count as a repeat, i think. Repeat is when you are upgrading a mark of a course.

So if you withdraw and get a W, you are fine and doesnt no count as a repeat.

has anybody taken a Guided Independent Study(GIS) course? On the langara site it says "You are expected to pick up materials at the beginning of term and to complete work according to schedules set by your instructor" . I'm thinking of taking that for spanish

BCAP 3200 hands down. Took it with Barbara; open book midterm and final. Easy A.

He's not bad - lectures drag on a bit because he loves to talk. You really don't need to attend lectures if you don't want - most of the stuff is in the textbook... though I'd highly suggest against it because it's good to adjust to his wording. That's where most students lost marks on his exams...his wording.

slingblade 08-05-2014 01:41 PM

Best of luck for the finals everyone :)

Went to maybe 5 classes in total during the spring semester for his class...achieved like 70% average doing jack shit. Pretty easy prof. Talks a lot. He also posts his PowerPoints online but they're missing a bit of information, so it requires you to either read the text or go to the lecture for the answers. *hint* the answers are used 90% of the time on the test/quiz
