isnt ubc 65% average to get in and sfu 3.00 or something?

dyan 06-26-2013 10:25 PM

Dude.. 2.5 GPA is the minimum. It's competitive from there onwards..

Energy 06-26-2013 10:32 PM

Yeah, you'll need much more than a 65% to get into ubc commerce, probably closer to a ~78 because the mean average for transfer students last year was in the b+ to a- range, plus there's that pesky supplemental application.

Phuck Yu 06-26-2013 10:34 PM

fuck it just go to sfu arts

also any1 have experience going from UBC/sfu to langara ? is langara alot easier (getting high gpa)?

pinn3r 06-26-2013 10:39 PM

has anybody had experience with the LPI? going into the crim justice program but i didn't take high school seriously and ended up with less than 80% in English 12

any pointers would be appreciated. TIA

dyan 06-26-2013 10:46 PM

LPI is just a series of comprehension tests and an essay. That's pretty much it. 3-4 parts iirc.

Easier yes. Usually a course at UBC/SFU will be broken into two courses for Langara, and then they take out some of the "harder" parts of the course.

+1. What they do is your application is rated out of 14 points. 7 of those points are obtained through your GPA, 7 through your supplemental application.

Why is that? :O

Competition is fierce(r) going into 1st/2nd year commerce ubc. Going into 3rd year is a lot eaiser because the courses you need to transfer are generally the only ones they consider (some what a fresh start for some people), relatively easy, and slightly less competition. There are 7 core courses to take, but they'll consider you if you have at least 5 of the 7. There are also 3 other courses that can be transferred over and count towards one of the 7 core courses.

would anyone like my computer and clothes because i am jumping off the the tallest cliff in the rocky mountains (of which i just spent 250 hours memorizing the geographical latitude and longitude of every pool of water larger than a small pond within a 20 mile radius of each and every equilateral line in western canada)

why didnt i listen to ratemyprof

Which prof is this out of curiosity?

Take the LET exam if you are planning to transfer with english credentials. LET is arguably easier and cheaper too iirc.

Langara IS not easier... the teacher are shit and most of them have terrible accents. But the classes are smaller so it is easier to pay attention to the teacher.

are u planning to go to ubc or sfu? u need LPI essay score of 5 for UBC and 4 for SFU.

Or you can take the LET (Langara English Test) it is more easier, I've heard

i was initially planning to do the 2-year crim justice diploma then transfer into the BBA degree program, which will take 4 years total
Langara. Programs & Courses: Criminal Justice

but i'm also contemplating transferring to sfu. i just don't know what to do there though; continue crim @ sfu?
i'm really confused with everything right now. all of this is so depressing

the crim justice program is full too :okay: all i can do now is finish up my application and hope for a seat

also, opted to take the LET instead

Anyone experienced this be4, today I was playing around with the registration system and this occurred "You have exceeded more than 50% of your daily registration activity limit. A hold will be placed against you for the remainder of the day when your limit is reached."
What should I do now? Im afraid more ppl will be on waitlist for the course that i'm trying to get into.
