Dude, I've told you months back that the 65% is the minimum to be considered, you have NO CHANCE to make it at 65%. If you plan on transferring to UBC Sauder thinking you'll only need a 65% average, you'll be in Langara for a LONG TIME

this

stop worrying about % though seriously. If you want to go to a top school then you need to at least show you want to do well, and people who try in a course no matter how stupid they are can at least get by with an 80. If you have an 80% average and its evident you're colorful person (not literally) with lots of extra cirric and leadership roles it's very easy to get into ubc

also

my mom is a very difficult person and just now submitted her appendix 1 info for student loan. it says i have like 50 days until fees are due. Is there a chance i may not get student loan deferral? This is really stressing me. I know itll go through sooner or later, i just need to know that i wont get dropped form my courses ive tried so hard to get

They should grant your loan provided you're eligable. 50 days is fine. I cut it close with like a few weeks lol

yeah its just my mom is literally one of the least intelligent people you'll ever meet. Idk if whatever she sends in may be wrong info. I am really thinking she fucked up and sent her 2011 tax return info. Will that jeapordize me?

KingDeeCee 06-30-2013 02:27 PM

What the? Did they change how the waitlist works? I don't have an offer expiration date.

Mike Oxbig 06-30-2013 04:19 PM

That is true. People who use to get in even from 15-20 waitlist range now chances are very slim since it doesn't automatically drop you when you dont check it for 3 days.

does langara ever have any worthwhile events that go on in the fall or summer?

Gilgamesh 07-03-2013 11:23 AM

^ You can join the kendo club. It is really the only legitimate club at Langara. There are sporadic events held by the Langara Business Association. In the winter, there was pie day where they were handing out free pies. I believe there is an event for new students every fall and sporadic events held by the Beat.

Gilgamesh 07-03-2013 12:04 PM

For those who have/are near graduation in the BBA program, what are your experiences with the course selection at the end of the degree? It's looking like I can graduate December 2014 at this point on my graduation evaluation page, but I am curious as to how likely the courses I am to sign up for will be available. Anyone care to share experiences of delayed graduation due to course selection?

TOS'd 07-08-2013 08:04 PM

Well, since you are in the BBA program, you are going to have first dibs at all courses anyways. Meaning it will be pretty easy to take the courses you need to finish in order to graduate.

Sort of. You'll only be competing with other BBA students but the problem is most of the time there is only 1 section of the course you want. Many of the 3/4th year stuff are at night so you basically have to pick up as many as you can per semester cause two courses you need might be on the same night.
