Didn't expect too much from him anyways haha. Just another first round top pick bust.

Oden would've ended up being quite useful had he been able to stay on the court. He's got a nice, soft touch around the rim and he's obviously a huge threat inside for defensive purposes. I think his career is over though.

speaking of draft picks does anybody else think the raptors have bad luck? andrea bargnani instead of brandon roy.... demar derozan before brandon jennings... and chris bosh before dwyane wade? anyways out of all the draft pick busts.. darko milicic has to be the biggest one haha

Um, no....Sam Bowie...by far....

jb6044 11-18-2010 05:00 PM

well yea.. before mj.. but most recent of active players has to be darko milicic

1-Slicer-1 11-18-2010 05:34 PM

Hmm debatable I think.
I might say Oden's a bigger bust. At least Darko is playing (in fact, starting, though it's for the Wolves).
Kwame Brown is another guy to put into the conversation.

this season is kinda boring to start

there are only two elite teams it appears and a handful of good ones, then the rest is just trash
waiting for the elite teams face off, lakers celtics

1-Slicer-1 11-18-2010 09:15 PM

What has made the Celtics and Lakers more "elite" than the Spurs or Hornets to start off the season?...

The Celtics didn't look all that elite when they lost to Cleveland and Dallas, nor did they look very elite when the Bucks, Bulls, and Grizzlies took them into overtime....

Celtics have had wins over NY, Det, Mil(in OT), Boozer-less Chicago(in OT), OKC, Memphis, and Washington...

The Celtics haven't had any impressive wins at all. Yes, they've beaten the Heat twice, but I don't know if we can call those wins impressive as the Heat are nowhere close to being as good as they should be once they figure their shit out.

So I would hardly call them "elite" based on the season's start.

The real game to wait for is being played on Christmas Day: Miami @ LAL
Miami will hopefully have figured their shit out by then too.

hotjoint 11-19-2010 06:34 AM

Damn Beasley is ripping it up. Guess he just needed a change of scenery. Also the suns looked like crap last night without Nash.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-19-2010 07:40 AM

ya he is playing really well at the wolves

I was at the game, 6th row behind the hoop. I was kind of disappointed because it's my first time watching a Lakers game and seeing kobe in person.

Those 3s surely quiet the whole crowd down. Kobe didn't perform though, and it seemed like phil jackson didn't really give a shit about the game. I will upload some pictures later. LA is hosting the all-star game this season! Too bad the tickets are at least $1000 a piece for lower sections. Too ballin'

and the so-called "elite" Celtics lose to a Durant-less and Green-less Thunder squad in their own gym...

wuuhoo 11-20-2010 04:49 PM

^do the league give westbrook credit? this guy is crazy. I knew he was going to be good when he came into the league 2 years ago.

By looking at STATS only, westbrook is as good as durant in my opinion

Anyways, Hornets and Raptors made a trade. (or might not sure now lol)

Peja + bayless for Jack, banks, and Derek Andersen

thoughts? I like bayless, lots of potential, but raptors giving Jack away? hmm

Jack is a veteran player. Bayless is a young gun. Time to rebuild. Bayless, Derozan, and Weems will make a sick back-court in a few years.

I know you are talking about stats only but I would not compare Westbrook with Durant...Durant is a top 5 player in the L while Westbrook is still fighting for a spot in the top 5 point gaurds in the L.

1. Paul
2. Deron
3. Rose
4. Rondo
5. Westbrook

Debatable...Nash and Curry are definitely in the talks and it won't be long before we add Wall to the discussion.

Jack hasn't been producing this season and Calderon has been in top form once again like he was 07-08 and 08-09. Good deal in my opinion, but I'm not sure how Kleiza, Weems and Peja will be rotated.

and Miami loses again... looks they cant produce in the clutch. How many games have they lost now by like 5 points or less?

I'll give you Curry but Nash is on his way out. I'd take those 5 ahead of Nash and Curry right now. I forgot to add Jennings, Wall I like his defense but he seems out of control on the offensive side, he's a rookie afterall.

You're probably right about Nash, I've never been a big fan of his simply because, in my opinion, as good as he is on offense, he's just as bad on defense.

I'd hold off Jennings, I don't think he's nearly at this level...at least not yet. I think, this year, there's a fairly good drop off after these guys:

CP3, D-Will, Rondo, Rose, Westbrook, Curry, and a name we forgot to mention: Tyreke Evans (if you want to call him a true PG (I find his game to be very similar to that of Westbrook's).

wuuhoo 11-20-2010 10:59 PM

hmm ranking the PGs is hard, simply because there are so many good ones this year.

And ill agree on jennings, he just has speed, not much other than that.

Anyone else think Jrue Holiday would have been good this year? despite PHI overloaded backcourt and drafting Turner.
