he is the Lakers' top 3 player i dont know why you restated it to apply to most teams

on most teams he'd be a second option or a first option on a garbage team

I'm not sure if I'd say he's a top 3 player on the Lakers. I'd say Bynum is more valuable to them than Odom.

At this point Odom is the third best player, Bynum hasn't been healthy for a while and Odom just came off the FIBA champs and is in great shape, he's also not making many brainfart mistakes.

Follow-up to the bench debate.

Lakers have a better one, even though you neglected to mention Delonte West for the Celts. Shaq is gonna be injured again down the road, JO is already out "indefinitely", not to mention Daniels will just find a way to get injured. The lakers may not have as many guys coming off the bench, but their pieces are just better. Barnes gives you energy, blake is perfect for the triangle offense and is a good 3pt shooter. Odom/Bynum is a luxury that no one else in the NBA has. And Ratliff, well he's not great by any means but at least he gives you minutes, last year his spot was taken by DJ Mbenga, and he wouldn't come out during blowouts some games...

Best thing about LA is that pretty much everyone except for Bynum can shoot. Pau has excellent range for a big man, and the power forwards Odom and Artest can both extend all the way to the 3point line and are actual threats out there. That's what makes them so tough to defend; their versatility.

Blake, Fisher, Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Artest, Barnes, Brown, Vujacic, etc. are all great shooters.

Shiet, suns are deadly tonight behind the arc. 18 for 28 and it's still the 3rd quarter still.

1-Slicer-1 11-14-2010 07:57 PM

Lakers lose 2 in a row, haha!

goo3 11-14-2010 08:00 PM

and.. suns win

Euro7r 11-14-2010 08:19 PM

Lakers tried to make it close even with the suns shooting lights out from 3pt territory, but it wasn't enough.

liu13 11-14-2010 08:32 PM

that was a fun game to watch, almost tied the record for most 3s in a game

hotjoint 11-15-2010 07:12 AM

suns made it rain the the lakeshow last night

jb6044 11-15-2010 08:22 PM

and the hornets finally lose...

1-Slicer-1 11-15-2010 11:12 PM

Hornets won't keep this up. I predict they finish in 5th.

They have a chance to repeat what they achieved several years ago and be third, off the top of my head other than the Lakers and the Spurs, the drop off is pretty great, especially with Roy's injury.

^came in 2nd in the west and loss to spurs in the playoffs.

If paul stays healthy, and Okafor starts to develop a bit more like a first draft pick, I dont see how the hornets cannot repeat what they did in 07/08

Euro7r 11-16-2010 01:17 AM

I've been kinda surprised at how well the Hornets are playing. Hopefully they can make a run this year.

jaebomb 11-16-2010 01:51 AM

I know this could never happen but golden state to the finals lol

I wish.

jb6044 11-16-2010 05:56 PM

the warriors might not have a good chance of getting to the finals but they will make the playoffs if curry and ellis play together like this for the rest of the season

I can see them doing a little bit of damage in the playoffs too if David Lee can keep up the way he had been playing in the last couple games.

Ah shieat you're right. But I wouldn't depend on Okafor, dude is reached his apex. I MIGHT have some residual hate over his poor fantasy showing last season however.
