I've lived in surrey for the majority of my life. Ain't nothing dangerous about it. Shootings happen everywhere, so do grow ops, crackheads and prostitues. Ain't nothing different here..

Its funny, cause those saying Richmond feels safer cause its Asian haven't been to Toronto, where one of the worse areas for shootings is controlled by the Asian gangs.

It is interesting to see there's been few shootings in Richmond... there's gotta be an explanation for it better than "Asians live there".

i trust the area you're talking about is something different than those statcan numbers.

i trust statscan measures surrey from east to west and north to south, boundary to boundary, and their numbers are more legit than some random dude pretending to count on his fingers haha.

and how does coquitlam and burnaby have modern/liberal people. every part of bc has people that act like hicks man.
I now live in guildford area (well, south of guildford), but I move like once a year.

you're right about the percentages.

I meant surrey has more hicks and rednecks than coq/ burnaby.

Surrey overall is pretty good. It would be great once they build more bridges.

I also think they need to connect that 84ave or whatever through bear creek park in order to drive from king george to 152nd street.

You're kidding, right? After living in Coquitlam while dating a girl in Burnaby, I couldn't wait to move back to Langley. As much as I make fun of Langley being a hick town, it honestly is far from being one. Asides from the West End, it seems like there are more fitness centers and health crap stuff here than anywhere else. Yes, plenty of people around here drive trucks but that's because the majority of the land that makes up Langley is farmland.

Also, and I know plenty of people on here agree with this, outside of Richmond, we have some of the best pho and sushi restaurants in the GVRD.

It's the difference between a wealthy neighbourhood and a poor neighbourhood. If you travel in the wealthier parts of the U.S. they have beautiful homes too. Just different demographics. People generally like to live among their own kind and that's why you see these types of socio-clusters.
