STOP POSTING! POINTS!

Anyone that posts in threads other than the OP will receive points. The only exception is if the item is either stolen or a fake. Anything like "PM'ed" or chatting in the thread will result in points.

This rule has been up since the emergence of the B&S. It will now be regulated strictly because of the increase traffic.

tiger_handheld 03-14-2009 10:18 AM

so we can no longer ask questions on B&S threads such as "how many times was it worn , got any pics? etc..?

v1nce 03-14-2009 10:26 AM

that's a good idea. I hate seeing people chat up in a thread.. and the post gets bumped like 1000x in 1 hour.

Nvasion 03-14-2009 10:47 AM

im lost

gilly 03-14-2009 01:10 PM

Use the PM function.

If you feel the OP does not provide enough info, feel free to PM him and if you really feel that everyone needs to know, report the post and I'll deal with it and make sure the OP provides enough info.

Hope everyone is enjoying their points.

InvisibleSoul 03-15-2009 02:24 AM

Hey CRS, if you actually want to enforce this rule, why don't you or one of the other admins actually set up the Buy and Sell forums such that only the OP can post replies to their thread?

BCSportbikes forum has such a system in place.

In the works. Trying to figure things out.

Psykopathik 03-16-2009 08:13 AM

can we mod the forum so only the OP can modify or post? if someone sees a scam /fake/problematic post they should just report it. wouldn't that be easier?

tiger_handheld 03-16-2009 07:19 PM

^ do we have a REPORT button? if not , we should have one , it should go to section Mod , and if its spam to SG or that pup kid.....

Under every persons profile where your avatar is, there are a series of icons underneath it.

You should see a triangle with an exclamation mark on it. Click on that and it will redirect you to the report a post page and will lead us to that particular post/thread.

The message gets sent out to all moderators of that particular subsection.

I'm gonna bump this up. There's still some people who haven't read the good news.

so we have to go to their profile, hit report then send a link to the thread/post?

idk if it's possible to implement this but the OP/mods were the only ones allowed to post in the thread, and each post/thread had a report button right on the page (probably best with a little confirmation box) that'd be wicked.

It is right under everyone's avatar. You do not need to go into someone's profile. You simply look on the left (where the avatar is) and look under. It has the Join Date, Location, Thanks, Thanked and under all that is where I'm talking about. A little further down, it will also have that online/offline icon that is either green or grey showing online/offline. There will be the triangle icon there to report posts.

If anyone is still lost, I can do a screen cap and circle it.

underscore 03-19-2009 07:45 AM

oh man never noticed that before, thanks.

Presto 03-21-2009 01:12 PM

ttt

twitchyzero 03-21-2009 09:08 PM

just want calarification..is this only in electronic BST or all BST subforums?

mk1freak 03-22-2009 03:11 PM

hey i have a question CRS,
what if the moron OP has his mailbox full?
what should we do then? are we allowed to post in the thread then? or do we have to PM the mods for follow up?
Just wondering cuz that would make more work for you (or any mod) in any case which means less time for you to spend with me(@chris) which we both don't want :(

johny 03-22-2009 05:08 PM

if you don't want people replying in this section then turn it off. another forum I am there is no way to reply in the B&S section except the OP.

as far as I'm concerned if I have a reply button, I can use it.

Please, give me a reason. I've wanted to ban you so long but was never given the opportunity. If you even remotely step out of line, your ass will be out of here.

As per inboxes, IF he box is full, you may post in the thread with the info but you NEED to indicate it is full.

*this rule has also been in place for any subsections I moderate. So basically everything under the automotive area with the exception of photography.

johny 03-23-2009 03:05 PM

I'll stick with my rule, if there is a button on the screen, I'm allowed to use it.

og_greek 03-23-2009 03:35 PM

shouldn't this be stickied?
