That's what many would think, but that's a misconception.
No player good enough to play in the NHL would enjoy being a bench warmer.
500k's a lot to us, but compared to other players or goalies, the potential could have been a lot higher. Unfortunately, the backup isn't good enough.
So it must suck for them psychologically. If I were a backup, I would hate having to control my diet on a yearly basis, workout all the time, go to practices, and all I get to do is sit in the real game.
In other words, pretty much being benched every game.

They look like they have no concept of puck pocession. They are making point shots from the farthest corners of the offensive zone, on the blue line right by the boards.
Most of the shots are not even getting through and the ones that are, the forwards are too doeep to get the rebounds.

The PP looks so sloppy tonight.
