Fucking rocked!

murd0c 10-21-2009 09:48 PM

Thats fucken BS that Henrik had a breakaway and it was stopped since who ever jumped in. I personally think that if that happens the team should get a penalty shot. Yes we won and are lucky in a way but we were down by a goal then and needed that chance.

tonyvu 10-21-2009 09:53 PM

fuck yea bitches what did I say, big win tonight! Luongo made some awesome saves.

true, otherwise all we'll see is fights when a breakaway happens.

Toews was feeling the affects of time travel cause he was knocked back to last week.

Willie Mitchell - what a hit!

Harvey Specter 10-22-2009 12:54 AM

That's what you get for talking shit to Willie during the playoffs.

AzNightmare 10-22-2009 01:34 AM

hahaha Mitchell should keep this up every game.

Who's the player that followed up Henrik's goal attempt, even though the play blew dead already? I LOL'ed when I saw that.

will068 10-22-2009 02:10 AM

Damn. Bounty on Mitchell. Reminds of Moore on Naslund. I wonder if Byfuglien would go after Mitchell in their next meeting ala Bertuzzi...

I think it was Raymond if I am not mistaken.

It doesn't. Mitchel's hit was square on Toews. No jumping up, or raising of the arms for extra explosiveness in the hit. A perfectly clean hit on someone skating with his head down.

It's just too bad I have Toews in one of my hockey pools.

hotjoint 10-22-2009 07:02 AM

willie with the nice hit on toews :lol

Hondaracer 10-22-2009 07:12 AM

I agree with murdoc about the bullshit scrums after clean hits

if we hadn't of won yesterday it could almost squarely be blamed on that call, henrik had niemi beat on the breakaway but gave up when the play stopped, that hit was virtually as clean as they come, sure toews was done but the whistle shouldn't be blown until the hawks touch the puck

Toews was frustrated at himself but you can't really fault him. Coming from another player, suicide passes are just that tricky.

It's a matter of letting the puck go and give up possession to the other team, or take the hit but play through it. Any player with pride would always choose the latter over the former and that's why suicide passes are a natural occurence in hockey.

If anything, it should be the defense's responsibility to read who they throw their breakout passes to. Much like what happened to Daniel Sedin and Phaneuf. Incoming hit or not, your forward will ALWAYS try to play the puck. It's an involuntary hockey instinct.

my oddset for the past 3 days were following:

ATL TIE MTL
CBS @ CGY, CGY WIN
CHI TIE VCR

odds were 53.xx

i bet 4 bucks.. almost had $215.xx

LOL...it was a close one with the canucks to tie with blackhawks.. but it was all good..
as long Canucks win and im happy either way :D

SPortsaction is a sucker, but man..it just bring the excitement of game to next level

PS: im going with the momentum and pick the canucks to win the next 2 home games :D

Don't blame me when I don't pass you the puck. :p

In all seriousness, that was a bad breakout pass that led to Towes being blindsided, but at the same time no one expected a D-man to be there. In a normal play, if the D-man tried to stand up a forward at center ice and missed, it would have become a 2 on 1 or even worse a 3 on 1.

Taking out the captain of the opposition out of the game.

Clean hit, head down....

Other than the captain part, and head down there is nothing else similar.

The Moore hit was not clean whereas the Mitchell hit was. Mitchell didn't have to jump, leave his feet, or elevate his arms. Mitchell hit Toews with his shoulder into Toews chest, square on. Mitchell could have put his shoulder into Toews head to really knock him out, but he didn't.

Moores hit was a head shot, and he left his feet to make the hit.

this was nothing like the hit on naslund at ALL. it wasn't a dirty hit. mitchell didn't jump or raise his elbow. again, gary valk is correct, willie could have destroyed toews and instead gave him a clean, hard hit.

i thought it as edler, #23 followed up after henrik. it was actually the correct thing to do just in case the play was deemed still alive.
