Crosby will only endorse products if he believes in it. Curse or not, there are a handfull of instances where cover boy isnt affected. The worst case must be Dion Phanuef and Eric Staal. 20cent was hit with..well..battery and assualt HAHA, but his on ice performance hasnt really been affected

forsberg - injury
lindros - concussion
pronger - injury
nolan - injury/suspension
lemieux - injury (but won the gold)
iginla - major dive in points
heatley - car accident
ovechkin - only season without 50 goals
and you listed phanuef, staal and kane already.

I don't know why Iginla would be included. He was the cover of Nhl 2003 or something and he had 73pts that year.. the next year, he had 67 then 98 pts then 89 respectively.

And wasn't Ovechkin the cover of 2007. His lone 50less goal is 2006-2007 season where they had Vinny as the cover.

the games are made before the season begins. kane is on the cover of 2010, in the 09-10 season.

but yeah it's just superstition, and many pro athletes are sooo superstitious, especially goalies. even I put on my gear in the same order, or i gotta do it all over again.

I personally have not heard of this cover superstition that's why I'm puzzled lol..

I know of other sports but that's usually during the all star weekend. i.e. Home Run Derby... 3 Point shootout but not a cover lol...If it was me, I'd be hella stoked to be in the cover of a game.
