To say the hit was clean and legal is retarded. Cooke showed no respect with that hit. |

No repect for other players. Just because he's no superstar, he has to go and take somebody out. A clean hit is shoulder to shoulder hit. Not a hit to the head. I hope that hit is not a career ender for Savard. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets booed at every game from now on. |
Yup, definately lined him up. |
is it normal for me to get all stress out each time the leafs lose a game? they deserved to win today's game after killing 2 5v3 power plays. |
fuck the laughs my hate list goes like this - Chicaco/Leafs - Calgary - everyone else |

talk about being a fucken bandaid |
Hodgson again? |
damn... definetly not a good year for cody. |
The Matt Cooke hit on Savard was very similar to the one Mike Richards laid out on David Booth, same part of hte ice, similar play. Savard, like Booth had his head down and Cooke, like Richards was just laying into the hit with the shoulder. Whether either of them had the intent to injure will never be known The biggest difference on why the cooke hit was dirty is this. If we look back at the richards hit, David Booth had the puck and Mike Richards wasnt going in to finish the check, but rather to take the puck off his stick to stop a play Matt Cooke on the other hand, was a late hit well after Savard had let go of the puck |
Fuck hodgson is pretty much done in terms on being a first line guy now, that is if he ever even makes it into the lineup.. Posted via RS Mobile |

Everyone i've heard ie. Pierre mguire, kyprios, etc have lowered their expectations of hodgson to basically a role player/2nd liner due to the back injury, now this on top of everything..not to mention there seems to be a rift between Cody and the Canucks Posted via RS Mobile |
Don't give up hope yet on cody this injury will at least help his back out more even if its feeling fine. Playing hockey 24/7 365 is a hard thing on your body and with the sizes of the boys I won't be suprised if we see more of this the years to come. With that being said can't we get a break on a draft picking working out for once? when was the last time the canucks even drafted a impact player out of the gate? Posted via RS Mobile |

Edit: Hodgson suffered the injury on Feb 12th and has played through it since. The Battalion just clinched a playoff spot so he's probably just using the time to heal up. |
I still question the canucks medical team and the medical team from Hodgeson's camp since last year, why let the guy play when he clearly was not ready, and by the time they sat him out, it was too late. As for this foot injury, should be no biggy but my views on this guy is that hes got a steeper hill to climb now to make it through as a top line player in the nhl. |
I bet Hodgson told both parties he felt okay to make the roster. Don't think anyone from either camp would knowingly put his career in jeopardy. Hodgson may have nothing to blame but his pride. I'm still optimistic that he'll make full recovery and be an impact player. We'll have to wait and see. Posted via RS Mobile |
If he was lying though and ended up making the team when did he think he was going to have time to recover Posted via RS Mobile |
If he was feeling better week to week he may have felt he would recover naturally over time. Who knows though, personally I just couldn't see either camp put a prospect like Hodgson at risk. |

That guy is out to lunch. I understand the point of view from people who take the Richards and Cooke hits as being clean and legal. I don't like the arugment they put forward though saying players should keep their head up and you are taught this from a young age. Ya i get that, keep your head up, but where is the respect factor? Nothing like a shoulder to shoulder hit on someone with their head down. But to go straight for their head, that I shake my head at (no pun intended). The NHL needs to have a definite standard as to what is acceptable and what is not. The NFL took headshots out of the game and have new rules that protect QB's from concussions. In my opinion the product has never been better than what it is in the NFL now. Defensive players have adapted to the new rules and it has worked out. While I think they should ban headshots from the NHL, they should at least make a baby step and set a stadard as to what is acceptable and what is not. That way at least the NHL players will have some sort of guideline. I for one don't want to see superstar players not playing because some 3rd or 4th liner who makes a living wearing a viser just dished out a dirty hit. A farm player will now replace that injured player which is effect waters down the league. |
