Unfortunately they have a stupid '1 item per style' rule so it wouldn't work :(

Delatocious 01-03-2014 10:25 AM

Finally found a pair:

Why all the fuss?

Dayton's still producing Service Boots in Black Suede/Nubuck - $499 and a variable lead time.

The distressing W+H did was not significant, it just lifts the toe a little. The process seems easily replicable, if so desired.

Dayton Boots

I ordered a pair from Dayton and I am very satisfied.

I also like the scuff/white marks on the sole that i think W+H added. I've heard the laces are also different in terms of the length. Does Dayton offer rawhide laces?

nabs 01-04-2014 01:33 AM

They have a Dayton boots store here in Vancouver I believe.

I like the scuff, too. I'm not sure W+H added it though, as not every pair seems to have scuffs. I scuffed mine up a little on a sidewalk, achieves a similar effect albeit not quite as nice. The laces on Dayton's are shorter than Dayton x W+H, but they are not specifically W+H laces, rather they are stock Dayton laces normally used on taller boots. I opted to switch the stock laces for longer ones, no issue.

Dayton Boots is the evolution of the old-school cobblers shop which has served Vancouver since the forties. The one and only Dayton shop is in Vancouver on East Hastings.
