new EASHL season every month. RS team anyone |
SOOO SICK |
should we start a ps3/ xbox nhl 10 thread for a RS league? |
NHL 10 demo is out for xbox360.. anyone try it yet???? I love all the new improvemets soo much fun.. I played for the "cup" and just couldnt imagine how much the crowd gets into the game.. I acctually had to turn down the volume.. LOL... The board checking takes a little to get used to but is awesome none the less. As for the fighting that aswell takes a little to get used to, but I like the improvements... Still leaning how to properly do upercuts.... Cant wait to buy/ download... |
looking to pick this up never owned any sports games before are there many n00b friendly servers? |
currently in nhl 09 the game matches up players to your skill level, which is calculated by your win-loss record and what rank players you win or lose to. in nhl 09 u can set your online versus play to match up with players around your same rank. so if you're just starting out you'll be unranked and listed as 10000.. until u accumulate enough stats to be ranked on the leaderboard. so u can set it to limit your opponents to around wherever you're ranked at.. or u can set it to find players of any rank. i say rank because this doesn't necessarily reflect skill and level of play. but generally games do get tougher as u play higher-ranked players. but the thing is, currrently u have no idea what rank your opponent is as you are matched up, unless u can recognize their PSN ID. if u play enough, usually right after the opening faceoff it's easy to gauge your opponent's skill level.. |
Im glad I don't care about my rank anymore since we're on the verge of NHL 10. Any early signs of a glitcher I just quit the game. I don't wanna bother with those curveshot, wrap around cheesers. |
I just got the NHL 10 demo on xbox 360. pretty crazzzy. |
What about us who use classic controls....FML. No face washes, and all that new shit. |

I tried in 09. I cant do it, I've played 2000 games in 08 and 09 combined, I'm stuck by my ways. It took like 6 months in 09 before I was able to stick lift but I still managed. |
10 is pretty sick.. everything is smoother and it seemed like passes are more difficult now right off the bat i missed a couple up the middle also the shot control is better and goalies give out rebounds according to where they are hit with the puck |

I was playing nhl on my pc and using the d-pad + face buttons only for my controller. It sucked when I played NHL 06 and 07 for the pc because a lot of stuff was built to be designed the joysticks. So when I bought my xbox and NHL 08, I finally made the change. It was tough at first. |
i used classic in 08 and 07 but after 09 when they added in a ton of moves you cant do with classic i just forced myself to use default controls and now they're second nature to me. can't even imagine going back. |
Anyone that uses classic is just going to get their ass raped by the wrath of a thousand penises. |

My club team usually toned down our play until the grace period for disconnecting is over then we rev up and ultimately try to get the other team to quit thru non cheap goals of course ... some teams just suck ... I'm already tied up with a 360 club but I wouldn't mind joining an RS PS3 club for NHL 10 ... |

Classic controls cant do line up changes anymore which is annoying. |
Adapt and evolve people! Skill stick is the way to go. So who's up for a club? |
Play n trade in richmond is doing a midnight launch for this |
I'm down for a club...for xbox 360 here.. =) On a side note, I played nhl 09 and this guy picked detroit and I picked the coyotes.. All game long, I just cleared the puck to piss him off and play Defence as all he tries to do is do the "easy" goals.. I ended up winning 1-0. lol |
