My bread and butter are one timers, and they always have been. They seem to work and I like to use the point men a lot as well for deflections. When I play someone who collapse their dmen and plug up the middle, I have to change my strategy...That is one NHL is about, you gotta change ur strategy to match the person ur playing..

Because it's realistic in hockey to park a dman behind the net the entire game right?

The point is not being able to stop them, I can do that for the most part. The point is it's frustrating playing the game like that. I wanna play a hockey game like a hockey game.

I'm glad there's board play now though. It makes it easier to stop those who try wrap-arounds.

I think you are forgetting its just that a video game! And you are going to have to adapt to their play. If this worked in real life, I'm sure you'll see teams exploiting the same thing lol!

Besides its not like everyone plays like this.

its a video game. You know all the kids that spend their whole lives playing will exploit the game as much as possible. So either u park a defense man back their to stop them or let them keep scoring on you. The choices is yours ;)

ya but in 09 most of the players do. especially towards the end of the year it was getting really frustrating.

But so far in NHL 10 I'm not noticing much glitching. I notice attemps but they aren't working so far so that's good.

I think one of my problems is that I do play the game too realistically. That's probably why I'll never be a top100 player.

I think I'm with you on this one haha.. I'm not a video game geek so I don't really care about records and what not.. If I play someone who plays like a "real hockey" game.. I add them up and play them again...

I'd rather do that than play someone wanting to do the same thing over and over and over again......sure, i can stop them but it is annoying more than fun.. and I play the game to have fun and kill some time

haha anyways.

Anyone here on the 360?

Razor Ramon HG 09-23-2009 08:51 PM

The way I see it.. If a person glitches on you, you glitch back. If they play normally, you play normally. That's how I played 09, and I was top 50.

I played with the mindset that I wanted to be in the top 100, so my approach is a little different, so I could why some people might just wanna play fair the whole time or leave when they play against a glitcher.

Yea, i think that's the difference right there.. For me, I just want to play a "normal" game...while others do all the shitty crap just to win lol.. while I could care less if I win or lose as long as the game was good..

CaRcuS 09-24-2009 09:11 PM

ifs theres a way to defend it. its not a glitch. wake the fuck up an play the game an you wont get scored on.

No. When the NHL 10 producers say it's a glitch, it's a glitch.

ienhz 09-24-2009 11:05 PM

curve shot is definitely a glitch. a human controlled goalie can stop it but the cpu will let it in over and over and over and over.

watch the developer interviews for NHL 10. they even say they specifically targeted that glitch when they were making 10.

Jet 09-25-2009 01:41 AM

So anyone in club teams for the 360 ...

when one glitch is patched up the nerds will figure out a new one, Happens in every game

You wake the fuck up and learn the definition of Glitch...I bet you are one of those ppl that can only score doing that move lol.....

I hope EA fixes it as it would suck having the same glitch 2 years in a row....We'll worry about other ones later as long as they fix this one.

JesseBlue 09-26-2009 03:50 PM

does glitch mean if you always get scored on? even if its the same way over and over again?...how about trying to play differently? or copy them?

point is that you will need to play differently at times...if you're always getting scored on a wrap around, control a defenceman and park him in front of the net and poke check the guy if he tries that...getting scored on a slap shot too much? how about controlling the player closest to the puck and dive? getting scored when you play the goalie? how about letting the computer control it automatically :D

glitch

–noun
1. a defect or malfunction in a machine or plan.

Franjo 09-28-2009 08:31 AM

I havent picked up nhl 10, but in 09 I've played a lot of games. I'd let one glitch goal go, if i see the player keep going for it then I bust out my strategy.

Whenever you get the puck, flip it out. Doesn't matter where on the ice just flip it out. And never skip a cutscene. Who cares if you have 5 guys in the penalty box. Usually they end up quitting.

:D

MR_BIGGS 09-28-2009 08:50 AM

I love how you can bat at the puck and when you get tripped on a breakaway the guy in on his knees and can still deke.

anyone want to start a team? pm me

I've seen people do the kneeling pass block move (LB on xbox) and are still able to swing their stick side to side. How do you do that?

Hold the block pass button down and then swing the skill stick side to side. Altho it only seems to move depending on the direction you end up laying down or something cause it doesn't always move.

god... wat do i have to do to become the #1 overall draft pick :( 3 goals +3 2 fighting majors in superstar mode still ain't good enough ended up #2 -_- and it was a 3-0 game.. sux

Jet 09-30-2009 02:51 PM

I got 2nd overall pick by having 2 goals in a 2-0 win ... I got 1st overall by having a shutout during the prospect game as a goalie ... but both times I got A overall ...

So anyone have a PS3 club team, I actually haven't started playing so I got nothing unlocked but I wouldn't mind playing games to get my stats up ...

cdizzle_996 09-30-2009 03:15 PM

I went first overall with EDM with 2 goals, 1 assist, and a fight.

Bonjour43MA 09-30-2009 06:40 PM

Ok I've played about 30+ online games now and I've got to say that this game isn't as "fun" as 09. Now before you all jump on me, my record in 09 was 525-215-50 something - I don't glitch or use cheese goals and I try to play like real hockey players (positional play).

With NHL 10, everything seems clumsy and slow to react - I've had many goals scored on me because of really bad delay between the time I press a button until the player acutally DOES something. Is it more realistic? Probably. but it's defintely not as "fun" as 09.

I dunno... it's good, but not THAT good. My thumbs are usually sore after a few online games because the controls are just so damn slow and clumsy....
