^ I on the other hand loved living downtown when I was on Nelson and Burrard.. after each party, 9 out of 10 times I just tell girls to have antoher drink and point at my apartment and it's an instant close.
On the other hand, living on Jarvis and Davie, i got my ass grabbed so many times not knowing Pump Jacks wasn't a place I wanna just play pool with buddies LOL.
Did also help when both of my jobs were in Yaletown, walking to work was just great despite some rainy seasons.
We had that rental apartment on drake st. We stayed there a few nights a couple of years ago when we had the apartment vacant for renovations. My god the ambient noise is so insanely loud, and all the lights drove me nuts. Couldn’t sleep a wink. Then we walked down to David lam park and was promptly pan handled by some trash ass bum.
Terrible.
DId you stay there when Cecil's was still around? A friend of mine lived there back in the day. Good times, good times.
Live in Coal Harbour, it's like a vertical suburb. It's dead after 7pm.
I had so much fun at Cecil back in 2003. Then I dated someone who worked there on stage and it was epic.
2009 ish, I think it was ben afflack was caught being at brandi's.
Then during 2012 era, still had many from Calgary who was here who loved but cecil was at its end and they rebuilt.

well, no. Did you remember the places where is used to be Tyson viet noodles / dollarama used to be called Fraser arms.
Then you got the famous Osaka supermarket / Presidential Hotel plaza who ran am illegal entertainment "service" and was sued. Lawyer was a school friend and I remember one of the quoted defense was "city will be losing a lot of jobs opps" LOL.
The hottest stripper I’ve ever seen was at the Cecil during the Olympics. She finger blasted herself until she came during a private dance. Took her a couple of songs to get off and I only paid for one. Good times!

lol I miss the old strip club days. I went with a few friends to no. 5 one night and a buddy wanted to get a bag.
Asked the first stripper he saw and she smacked him in the face and was like “you think just cause I’m a stripper I know where to get coke?”
He asked a second one and came back with an 8 ball hahahaha.

I remember going to Lumber Land in Richmond with my parents on the weekends. Beyond Lumber Land, there was really nothing.
I also remember going with my dad to check out a farm with a meat shop, I believe on No. 3 and Bridgeport. The owner was selling it for cheap and from what I recall the rent would have covered the cost of the mortgage, but at that time there was nothing in Richmond and my dad felt like Richmond would never expand. Biggest L ever.
Speaking of Richmond, did anyone go karaoke in Richmond back in the day?
-went with friends and sometimes co workers for karaoke at Zodiac. Good selection of songs for their karaoke system. The booze for the group packages for room bookings sucked though. Coors Light??
Urban legend about a corpse at Zodiac karaoke is based on an actual shooting at this karaoke place:
-the story likely stems from a real-life shooting in 1995 at the Zodiac Karaoke & Pub in Richmond, BC, which is often discussed in Reddit's true crime communities.
The incident involved the following details:
The Shooting: On August 24, 1995, a man named Ranj Cheema was at the Zodiac Karaoke Bar when he was lured to the parking lot and shot five times at point-blank range.
Survival: Despite severe injuries to his abdomen, Cheema managed to stumble back into the bar. He survived the attack after being in a coma for six weeks.
Guys I went to high school (McNair) with Bindy Johal! AMA!
I actually didn't ever see him at school (he was 5 years older than me yet showed up on the school roll) but his associates were in some of my classes.
I was also at McNair when there was a machete attack - a few EI guys had a beef over a girl and they showed up at our smoke pit looking to settle the score. Next thing you know our school is in the news (I tried Googling for anything on it but nothing shows up).

Yes I remember ZOdiac. I do remember having a private party once and someone pulled in a favor and working girls showed up.
The new Zodiac from what I was told are multiple owners as the reno went above cost, so there are multiple liens on it until it's paid.
For those of you who grew up in Vancouver and went to see the Lunar New Year parades in Chinatown, there's a trailer and upcoming movie of the woman who was the force behind the cultural dances.
Mimie Ho was my substitute teacher for several months in elementary school. She was a tough and strict teacher but instilled discipline in us, your typical FAFO Chinese/Asian teacher. As kids, we were scared shitless but later, realized she meant well. She eventually ended up becoming a full-time teacher, and if my memory serves me correctly, taught at Templeton Secondary.

Growing up close to Marpole our main joint was Fraser Arms but we never actually went for the girls we went for the food. They had periods during the day and night where food was like $2 for a burger and fries that sort of thing + there was no cover charge to get in. The girls were just a bonus, you'd see the odd good looking one but man that place good memories.
Fast forward about 2 years ago we were celebrating a friends birthday at his house, the usual drinking and hanging out. Somebody randomly mentioned where the old Wild Coyote used to be was a new strip club that apparently is the talk of the town. Nobody really wanted to go but after an hour of convincing and more drinking we caved. It was the weekend, it was packed and holy crap I have never in my life seen such ugly girls at a strip club ever. The avg age of these said girls that night was probably 40 and not even good looking 40 year olds. We took a couple shots at the bar, did a lap around the joint and couldn't get out of there quick enough. Never again.

I worked at a tech company in the late 90's and those nerds would all go to Arms at lunch... one time they finally convinced me to go and sitting there eating a burger on gynecology row (stage seats) the chubby stripper crouches down in front of me and says "That burger looks almost as yummy as mine" immediately lost my appetite.
Then the next dancer comes out and it was a girl I went to school with like we're talking from Grade 1 through Grade 12, and as soon as she saw me she covered herself up and ran off stage hahahaha! Good times.

You haven't lived life until you've spent $600 on lap dances until club closing, then you're sitting in your car in the parking lot waiting for the same girl to get off after money count so you can take her to pound town.
She never shows up.
Damn that secret back door exit
