at some point common sense and moral values have to kick in. i dont say no to free food but the last thing you will see me do is collect something that is actually intended for people less fortunate than me.

the other day i saw an old chinese woman walk away with a bouquet of flowers from one of those car accident sites (and people leave flowers around the poles) ... steveston hwy n no.4
she stood there for a good ten minutes picking out which flowers

At one of our rental suites, this lazy dude works 3 days a week mopping floors, his fat GF is too lazy to work. "She has to take care of the baby" LOL. They almost never have enough money to pay rent and the government always steps in to feed/clothe them. We always got our check so we didn't kick them out but talk about milking the tax payer.

Oh and this guy has the audacity to complain about working too much every time I stop by to check on things. Oh and of course he has enough money for a 50'' TV, PS3, Wii and all that other shit. :D

just start video taping the abusers. when they eventually come to assault you and break your camera, sell the footage to a news station. you could then use the money to donate to the food bank or just pocket it hah... up to you!

It's pretty retarded. I know of enough people who don't try to do anything, just abuse the government by sitting on welfare or saving money to pay for the insurance of their H1's by going to the food bank and eating that stuff. Pretty dumb.

Honestly I am not very pro food banks or homeless shelters, because everything gets abused and we end up paying for it.

This pisses me off. Hearing the OP rant like that reminds me of the time when there were free pizzas at skytrain stations ... you can probably guess what happened.. It's enough to get one pizza and share the rest, but lining up multiple times is just abusing the system.

Anyways, bad karma to the well off families going to a food bank to take advantage of them.

I'd love to see what the people say if the news crews show up and start to interview them asking them why they're at the food bank if they're driving a bmw!

Damn. That makes me sick to my stomach when I think about what'll happen during the holidays. Those ('well-off') fuckers will be taking advantage of holiday generosity, picking out a big-ass turkey and trimmings... meanwhile a family in need has to go without.

3. I'll fucking start a Facebook Group about this and hopefully embarrass some of the sons and/or daughters enough to tell their parents to stop.

Calling the new station and getting a news crew is pointless.. it cost them way too much money and time. Besides most news organisations in Canada are too chicken to get into confrontation especially if a certain minority group seemingly been targeted. eg the racist beat down on Vancouver Island over the summer was a YouTube viral to start.

Do it the YouTube way: do a viral video, better on a camera that has zoom function, so you can highlight the points you want to emphasis.. spread it via facebook / YouTube.. do the leg work for the news station they might put on the air for you.

In the end, the food bank is a non profit.. it is up to them to turn people away. AFAIK the food banks are doing it on their own dime / via their own fundraising. Unlike in US, we don't have a food stamp system, so there is no obvious transfer of funds. It is just like parents dropping the kids off at churches on Sunday for a few hours of free daycare, or Catholic schools hoping their kids have a better education.
