I've heard some areas are not expected to have power back until tomorrow afternoon, now. Marine from Boundary to Victoria Drive, all the traffic lights were still out as of 2pm, as well.

Doesn't help the fact you got people just walking across the intersction lol. Is funny coz I saw a ton of cars who doesn't care about the 4 way stop and just keep on going and they got horn at. Is common sense.

Still no power... It's been 40 hours now :fuuuuu: :alone:

Still no power!! Fuuuuuuuck! They teased us last night and turned it on at 11pm only for it to go down again during the night. Fucking bullshit. So much food wasted.

i wish we could swap and your power would go back on and power at work would go down lol

SumAznGuy 08-31-2015 09:13 AM

Power still down up on SFU.
Our backup generators went down in the middle of the night and one of the elevator doors are half open, that means someone may have been in it when the power went out.
Luckily for them, it wasn't 5 seconds earlier.

I had to manually open all the gates in our condo this morning. Fuuuuuu.....

I'm thinking that many restaurants are getting great business during the past few days of this windstorm. The White Spot on Lougheed and Clarke had a huge line up of customers on Saturday at 9pm.

The POS terminals were down though. Some Richmond restaurants would do well during this time if it's "cash only" service. :lawl:

^ haha I ate at that resaurant Saturday around noon because the complex next to it was all shut down. They were really understaffed and overwhelmed by the numbers of people going there lol

Soundy 08-31-2015 10:27 AM

A former neighbour in Pitt Meadows said the block with McDonald's was the only part that had power yesterday, and the lineups for the drive-thru were running about an hour.

Doomed, I tell you.

hchang 08-31-2015 10:43 AM

I still had no power when I left my house this morning

Brutal

GabAlmighty 08-31-2015 10:44 AM

I was up Indian Arm Saturday/Sunday and we had power thanks to our little generator. Was one of the gnarliest boat rides I've been on getting out to the cabin.

Parents said we never lost power at our place but had a couple trees blow down in the backyard. Also, I didn't have any cell coverage in Lynn Valley Sunday night.

SumAznGuy 08-31-2015 10:51 AM

The churches chicken on North Rd had a lineup out the door on Saturday.

I agree, we are doomed if/when the big one hits.

I wonder how quickly the generators fly off the shelves this weekend!

I think micro turbine generators on natural gas is the way to go.

So many places were closed on the weekend. There were a lot of pockets of power outages. In Coquitlam, uur pub of choice, Woody's, was closed. So, we tried out Jon B's on Austin and Blue Mountain, and I think it's our new favorite place :D. Pitcher and a dozen wings for $15 sold us.

We didn't experience any power outage, but our internet has been down for more than 50 hours.

6o4__boi 08-31-2015 11:15 AM

dammit i'm working through lunch
$15 pitcher and wings?? Y U DO DIS

i'd kill for some right now.

reading the news and saw something about how some 13 year old girl celebrated her bday in the dark

:fuckthatshit:
Came back from a wedding with no power, no running water all weekend. Only access to the venue was blocked by fallen trees three times. Tried renting generators but they were all gone within an hour of the outage.
Ceremony and dinner was in the dark with nothing but flash lights and glow sticks
I've been to a few memorable weddings but this one takes the cake.

There was more than enough booze to last the weekend :awwyeah:

Meanwhile, those of us in civilization who never lost power once...

Felt bad for a lot of my friends in Richmond that didn't have power. All the surrounding blocks had no power but mine was just fine lol

Hondaracer 08-31-2015 11:22 AM

Yea same deal for me fuck. Sitting at home in the dark reading and I look out and all three neighboring towers, including the twin of our building which is like 60 feet away had power and we're all happily watching TV, making food etc while I was in the dark lol

:feelsbadman:

GabAlmighty 08-31-2015 11:26 AM

I know the gate code to my old shop and where they've hid their $20k generator... Gonna need a forklift though.

murd0c 08-31-2015 11:33 AM

I didn't mind it at all, GF was over and yesterday we sat in my back yard with my sister getting drunk cooking on my bbq.

Other then running out of ice and my milk going bad it was nice not having a phone/tv/computer to deal with.

If my GF wasn't over it would of fucken sucked tho lol

quasi 08-31-2015 11:48 AM

My internet at work is still down, I was going to take the day off then I remembered I could tether off my phone.

First world problems.

If/when that day happens, gonna be total chaos. People already struggling with no power for a few hours and days.. Given the magnitude of the big one. We will all be totally fucked.
