twist cone is gone? i just thought certain locations didn't offer it (the smaller express locations)

sometimes i miss working there... it'd be awesome making my own creations... like hot out of the oil, triple patty/cheese filet o fishes loaded with tartar sauce =P

i haven't eaten mcd's in a few years now... damn metabolism can't take it =/

because they're under so much constant scrutiny i would think they do things even cleaner/sanitary than the average mom&pops joint that is struggling to make ends meet. for example i bet when you go to a small family owned restaurant they are much more likely to use expired products! and the fridges in the back are probably a mess.

It's mostly the after effects of eating McChurn's that get's to me. I can't be the only one that feels sick and has to shit almost immediately lol. Also the fact that you can get a double cheeseburger (in the US) for $1, meaning it costs them even less to make, makes me wonder about what is actually going into the "food".

I realize food awareness campaigns like to focus on places like mcdonald's to criticize because they are so ubiquitous but it's still difficult to ignore even knowing other places may be just as bad or worse.

That being said I won't argue that they don't do a good job of satisfying your instinctual food cravings (fat, salt, sweet) and can totally understand why people love it.

Big Xtra was at the Guildford Mall Wal-Mart in Surrey, IIRC. When I was last there, I chose a Big Mac though.

McDicks is fucking awesome, but something about the quality slid a bit. Sure it's fast food probably made by kids I know at my school, but I remember it as close as 6 or 7 years ago being ridiculously satisfying. Having Big Xtras when I was in Grade 6 (8 years ago) was great.

Nowadays,I rarely eat at McDicks(unless it's the icecream),the quality of the food has gone down since I was a teen,I remember a BIGMAC was a BIGMAC,not this pathetic little burger with the same name.

When I crave for fast food,I prefer to spend more and get something better, like KFC chicken burgers,A&W,Burgerking(love the angry whopper),shit, even Wendy's has better tasting burgers than McD's.

Sodium 11-23-2009 05:41 PM

Anyone wanna ellaborate why anyone who has worked at a MacD never wanna eat there anymore?

The burgers may have gotten smaller, but they still taste the same, also the KFC burgers are better tasteing than any burgers McD's has to offer.

I am another who has noticed the quality of McDonald's has gotten worse over the years. It's not just the size of burgers, but the overall quality of the food, especially here in Vancouver.

However, when I go down to the States, the McDonald's down there taste better.

Weird!

The McDoubles down there and the McChicken (Junior up here), actually have some form of taste. McChicken has a kick to it, and the Doubles have a discernible flavour.

I was in the Philippines 10 years ago as a kid and remember they had fried chicken on rice or pasta there. I wonder if it's still like that (i'll probably bring up the McDicks PH website to check).

I fucking LOVED Mc Donalds when I was in high school, their were deals everyday of the week and it was so cheap too $1.39 or something for the daily burger and $3.99 for the meal. I would usually just get a meal with 1 burger, if I feel like killing myself I usually opted for another burger. Mc Chicken Wednesdays was the best, a meal + 2 burgers after school with extra mc chicken sauce NOM NOM NOM NOM. Filet O' Fish fridays was pretty awesome too ;) I ate it like 3-4x a week after school cause it was so close to my house and it was CHEAP as well. I felt like SHIT afterwards, I would usually watch some TV and then sleep til 8-9pm and wake up, still feeling like shit. My heart would beat so fast during my sleep after fast food :(

However, they took the daily deals down in my last year of High school and I just stopped going cause it was getting pretty expensive. I would just eat it like once every month or sometimes even longer when theirs nothing to eat at home or I just want a quick bite when I'm out. After each Mc Donald meal I would feel even worse, it's like putting 87 Octane in a M5/M6 and you would just feel like ass the entire day. So I basically stopped eating Mc Donalds and I just eat it when my friend works there, $3-4 for 20 pieces of chicken nuggets mmm... :D Fast-food in general is pretty bad but if I had to pick I'd choose KFC > Wendy's > A&W > BK > MCD. KFC's Big crunch combo is pretty fucking UNBEATABLE :) I usually opt for Wendy's, A&W or BK nowadays instead of Mc Donalds cause the price is about the same and I think the quality of the food at the other chains are better then Mc Donalds IMO.

McDonald's was the most memorable back in highschool...the memories

In Japan, don't go to McD's if there is a Mos Burger nearby. Mos Burger is the best fast food burger I have ever eaten. In Japan, the burger you are served even looks like the burger in the photos, perfectly arranged with neatly layered lettuce, tomato, etc.

SkinnyPupp 11-24-2009 01:27 AM

I've been to MOS Burger, IMO it pretty much sucks. Huge buns and hardly any meat kind of defeats the purpose of having a burger...
