oh man the anxiety would kill me hahaha
even waiting for shit like a bottle cage gets me all riled up waiting for the delivery guy

so this past week i've been commuting on my fixed gear. nothing more satisfying than dropeing normal bikes on climbs whilst only having a single gear.
granted most of these people are 40lb hybrids and not in any mood to race but anyway

Hey man, I'm working 9-5 unpaid internship and then I work part time on the weekends... I'm not even sure I can find time to pick up my bike from Point Roberts this weekend before the parcel place closes lol. At least you're getting paid for 9-5.

How is it going up Taylor Way? Are there a lot of cars or are they looking for a way to run you over?

Guys if you are looking for deals on a cycling GPS/computer the Garmin Edge 500 just went on sale at London Drugs for $199... according to my colleague this model also includes the heart-rate monitor. I am picking one up when I get into work next.

If you want one let me know, I can see if I can do better than that price.

Ouch! Well, not too much sympathy, you just bought a new bike/gruppo, and now potentially wheels!
Which parcel place? If you ship it to the Shell Station, they're open on Sundays, and I find that it's the least amount of traffic heading over then.
You should try walking over, with a multitool to quickly assemble the basics, fill some air from the gas station, and then ride back across the border and not declare it. YMMV.

Kaycee was the one with wheels, haha.

I ship to P2P, only $4 for receiving a parcel that big lol. But their hours are not too good now that I'm working 9-5. I was considering that trick of walking across then riding back but it's only 5% tax under the new PST laws, and the helmet is also 5%, which is awesome. I hope to be able to pick it up this Saturday if I don't get waylaid by other errands in the morning.

i found it...okay. a bit sketchy since there is no dedicated shoulder for bikes but there's a very reasonable distance for cars to pass. if you're good at keeping in a straight line then it's fine. keeping the hill grade in mind, if you bonk out and get swervy then

Just did taylor way to british properties to top of cypress.

Taylor way okay. like steve said, no bike lane, you just keep to the right... the shoulder is FILLED with debris right now, i was shooting rocks left and right sounded like a gun fight.

Taylor way is short but steep. And there's a stop light in the middle of where its steepest so it's annoying having to stop there..

Bike Ride Profile | Tour of British Properties to the top of Cypress Mountain. near Richmond | Times and Records | Strava

So after putting 100kms on the Fizik Antares I would have to say that i LOVE this saddle. It suits me well. The saddle that came on my bike was okay, it was a bit narrow and had a shallow channel down the middle.

The Antares is quite flat, 142mm wide at the back. One thing I immediately noticed while riding was the ability to change positions forward and back easily... the material is more slippery than my old saddle, but not so slippery that it feels like i'll fly off the seat. I did lots of climbing today, so i sat pretty forward on the seat for a prolonged period of time. My choda isn't too beat up so thats good LOL.

I think judging by pictures, the Arione is too wedge-shaped for my ass. I think i made a good decision. It also helped that I got to test an Antares before buying it

For your route conecting from British Properties to cypress climb, you took chippendale to connect? IT doesn't seem to show up on googlemaps. Just checking because I've never done the cypress climb except coming off the highway. always good to find another way for variety.

Usually, I don't bother with taylor way. I go up 15th or 22nd. Nice and quiet.

Yes Chippendale. There are roads that connect through to cypress. Currently not open for vehicles to drive and connect through it but you can ride your bike through it.

It's for all those new developments.

Yea I wanted to try something different than the hwy to cypress. British properties has so many roads within it, a lot of wicked climbs. Some parts reaching 10% grade. I'm literally going 8kms LOL

no i didn't buy yet i was just picking up odds and ends and then i'd stumble across a "oh that's sweet..i need that"...but I really don't LOL

i do need to pick up a new saddle though. my arione left with my bike going to go for the arione R3...pricey but i dig the shape and extra padding on the nose.

I was thinking the same. But just so you guys know, it will add an extra $3/logo/block of text to the jersey - is this okay with everyone?

If nobody speaks up, then I will submit the details to Cima Coppi and will hold you accountable if/when you bail. Thanks!

Yeah I'm squaring out my Sammy Slicks nicely. Right around 550km on them sofar Rear has some bald/scuff patches from hammering the rear brake, front isn't so bad. I'm really like the tires, I would purchase another for the rear then by the time that's done my front would be dead too.

Anyways the world just got smaller. A coworker saw my bike leaning on my tool box at work and we got to talking... turns out his brother is the owner of Cima Coppi!

I would like to see a Pacific Multi Sport logo on there. John's hooked enough of us up with great service!!
