You know what there's actually plenty of cervelos on the used market, but sizes are usually 54 and bigger.

In the last several months I've seen two size 51s... Smaller sizes definitely harder to come by but if you are > 54 cm you have a lot of choices.

To put that into perspective, Pro team bibs, pro team jersey, pro team base layer, socks, hat, and a pair of gloves would be a swift $862+ 12% tax.

i hopped onto my Focus, and altho i can still hit the tire with the inside tip of my shoes, its not as bad as the S2.

The crank is a 172.5 on both bikes. maybe my bike fit next month can help alleviate some of this

may have to remember to keep feet at 12 and 6 for slow tight turns

^ that's very common on smaller sized frames, it's just the geometry of the bike. I've got toe overlap on all but one of my road bikes. Just becareful when you're riding low speeds and doing a u-turn, that's pretty much the only time you have to worry about it. You will never need to turn that much when you're flying, and most road biking is straight down the road.
You could try shorter crank arms, but of course, depends if that is your 'fit', and where your cleat/pedal is located.
It's even worse if you add fenders, or ride toe cages on the pedals. Sometimes I think the smaller bikes should have went with 650 wheels to help alleviate this problem.

Yea I asked some bici friends with s2's in my size and everyone has this problem even with 170 cranks.

I've never hit on my Focus... Only once I think when I was very new and just messing around doing slow figure eights hahaha.

But yea, I don't see any situation where if I'm riding fast I would have the handlebars cranked like that

Would you mid sharing your measurements? I should be riding a size small 51 frame myself and I'm wondering about your preference on 172.5 cranks?

Reason I'm asking is that I have a 172.5 crank to be installed but I'm afraid it maybe be uncomfortable.

The 3 previous bikes I've owned all have had 172.5 cranks... I wouldnt know much about how the 2.5cm difference would feel... wouldn't u be able to make up the difference by adjusting saddle height?

My height is 170cm

My inseam (standover height) from the ground to my crotch is 80cm

I'm sure I can be made to fit a 54, but I'd probably be using a short ass stem and a lower seat height

Saddle to bar drop would also be

My 90mm stem is a bit short so gonna go 100mm during my bikefit this month

Just FYI, a difference between 170 and 172.5mm cranks is 2.5 mm not 2.5cm. That makes a total difference of 5mm (between both arms) which is small to say the least.

I had 175mm cranks on my old bike (hybrid) and I didn't notice a difference stepping down to 172.5 cranks on my road bike. I also have major toe overlap issues with my 52cm bike, its common problem for us vertically disadvantaged people. Switching to even a 170mm crank wouldn't prevent it.

In previous years, there wasn't too much for sale, mostly clear-outs. Last year wasn't too bad, depending on what you're looking for. One booth had all S-Works helmets, and all bike shoes marked down 50% from what I remember.
Obviously, limited stock, go early for best selection.
If you miss this, then save your money for the South Shore Cap's parking lot sale coming up, usually at the end of March.

Agreed! I even have 165mm crankarms on my Rocky Mountain Turbo, still a little bit of toe rub. However, I do notice the smaller diameter when pedalling when compared to one of my 175mm mountain bikes.
And FYI, SOME crankarms, they're all manufactured the same length overall, (probably to save on manufacturing costs) it's just the placement of the threaded hole moves to give you either 175, 172.5, 170mm, etc.. Just saying that, in case you think you're saving weight with a shorter crankarm.
