Russian players are going no matter what the NHL says, Ovie has made that loud and clear to Bettman. It'll be a shame if NHL players can't play in the games but again Bettman and some greedy owners don't look beyond the US and don't think the games are worth it. Let's just hope Bettman is long gone before 2014.

Too bad he failed while going around with that big flag when it got all tangled up. :lol I love how his mouthguard and glove both went flying as soon as he realized he had scored the winning goal. :D Felt bad for the Americans, they all looked so dejected. Oh wellz, better them than us.

Sorry, I'm a hockey noob but can anyone explain to me why Sid Crosby was so famous before? sure, he was from Nova Scotia and won a lot of tournaments at such a young age. But I mean how do people in say BC and vancouver people love him so much (apart from scoring the winning goal, just asking prior to this)... Yeah I understand he's CAD but seems like he's known worldwide

On a side note, right at the intersection of W 48th and Yukon St. near the Langara Canada line station, there was a bmw 5series(i think) and a civic coupe that were torched at around 11:15pm. Got there at 11:45 and both cars were black and burnt and the firemen were just cleaning up the area. Sucks to be the owners, they were also both parking in a no parking zone.

i was gonna ask if anybody had seen ryan miller in the background in the vids after crosby scored the game winner, he just kneeled down on the ice and laid down

kinda sad to see, but like somebody's said, better them than us

I thought you could park in the small streets and not on cambie obviously...

It always bothered me how you win Gold and Bronze.
But Silver's a consolation prize.

^^ those small streets are full of "residents only" or "permits required" signs. yet people will still park there, and i'm sure the home owners around there expected something like that to happen during the last two weeks.


That's only in team sports though. But since this is the HOCKEY thread, your point is still valid.
