Someone must have it on their PVR....hopefully a DVD + HD recorder so it can be burned onto DVD. Anyone? I would have, but the DVD burner on mine is broken.

LUUUUUUUU 03-03-2010 01:27 AM

i have mine on my telus HD PVR, but how do i transfer it over to my computer and cut off the commercials lol

Ch28 03-03-2010 01:33 AM

I have both opening and closing ceremonies from CTV saved onto my Motorola Shaw HD PVR but the problem is finding a way to transfer them over (if it's even possible)

Yup, I have opening, closing, and gold medal hockey game all ctv feeds. But I've been trying and trying to get them off with so many methods I've read online but it's just too much work. Unless someone has already done it and can tell me how to do it.

If not, guys will just have to wait till the Olympic DVDs/Blu-ray copies come out.

You can't, the files are encrypted. Therefore, it's "unhackable" but there are ways to do it. :) Quite difficult though. :/

For a digital file or print? What's the resolution of the digital file? Size of the print, and what printing method and paper?

This is why I have a TIVO, simple one click transfer to computer. I'll have to check when I get home to see if I deleted the recordings.

You can do it (I have done it with mine).

You need a firewire port in your PC, a firewire cable, and appropriate drivers:

http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/

Keep in mind you will have MASSIVE filesizes because you will be capturing raw 1080i video. You will need to compress it down after capture.

Why not record/download the CTV feed?
I haven't been able to find the CTV feed. Trust me, I didn't want the NBC feed.

The game will probably be on that DVD boxset whenever that gets shipped
CTV *individually* purchased separate TV rights to OWN the footage of the 2010 hockey tournament

which is why they used all their own graphics

I was actually wondering about that because TSN and CTV had their own graphics for the hockey games..

For a digital file. I posted a link to the site a few pages back.

you had to be here for the game and celebration after

wasnt a good time to be on vacation

fliptuner 03-04-2010 08:30 PM

I always felt like I missed out when I was in the Philippines during the '94 riots. What was I thinking?

So happy I made it DT right after watching the game. Once in a lifetime experience.

threezero 03-04-2010 09:38 PM

I dunt understand the ppl that go on vacation to "get away" from the olympic. I brought my non hockey frd (hell she doesn't even care about any sport not event the olympic) with me to dt after the hockey game, she was so stroked. She didn't know she would enjoy it so much until she is actually there. Watching tv and hearing about it doesn't compare at all to actually being there.

I tell that to my gf that jsut got back from hk a day after the olympics she just shrug and told me she don't care. she missed out and she will never see celebration and togetherness of this scale in her lifetime. sucks for all those that thought the olympic would be hell and went on vacation

Durrann 03-04-2010 09:59 PM

^maybe u shud go out with the friend u hung out with.. ahhh shitt.. lol

the thing is, it doesnt help the fact that it was chinese new years as well
regardless of what it is, the celebrations didnt pick up until a few days after CNY, thats where it started to become one of the many moments of the games

Hahaha I was one of those people, I was planning to leave town and chill with my friends in Toronto/Waterloo for a week then come back to celebrate the last week of the Olympics. Luckily I couldn't find any decently-priced plane tickets at the time during the Olympics and I AM FUCKING GLAD I DIDN'T! It was the best fucking 2 weeks of my life EVER!

I'm even kicking myself for even having such a thought! :(

The only reason I left was because it was my best friend's daughter's baptism in the Philippines and I had to be there. I'm planning to d/l the game when I get back because the connection is really slow here in Boracay. Trust me, I wish I was back in Vancouver during the game...I was glued to the tv watching the entire Olympics until I left.

Can't complain though, Boracay is fuckin' beautiful!! Can't beat a one hour full body massage on the beach for 8 bucks!
