just get it unlock at mobileincanada ~ promotion $0.01 ~ the white one is already out here ~ |
I checked out the HTC Legend, and I really liked it. Android 2.1 addresses a lot of issues I had with 1.6, and the new phone seems to be pretty snappy. I really like being able to use a Gmail application rather than a browser, and that in itself is nearly enough to make me switch phones. The only issue is the screen is way too low res, as I am used to 800x480 now. I'll have to wait for more high res Android 2.1 phones to come out before I can consider switching. |
stop whining about the X10 and SE phones... 2.1 upgrade is expected in September and will incorporate multitouch... and FYI HTC HD2 Nam will be out for Rogers later this year. Acer Liquid E is coming out for Rogers very very soon...like next month i need to find out exact launch date. Thank me later..prepare to drool all year long.. |
ooohh HD2 would be sick.. |

Spec is POS, 2.7in, 135g, $4350 and HTC Legend looks like shit as well... |
I was hyped for the X10 until I learned about Timescape and Mediascape. Honestly not a big fan. In terms of customized Android UI, Sense UI is much better. That and shipping with 1.6, with a 2.1 update in September? :o Everything else is on 2.1, except the older generation of Android handsets. Who made this retarded ass decision? |
yeah, the more I look at the reviews the less I like the normal android sets. HD2 is looking really nice and second is X10. Droid is looking really plain. I'm hoping Rogers picks up HD2 though. |
Lets all cross our fingers? the unfortunate reality in Canada is that, the contracts and plans are so binding that its difficult to get anything new these days without waiting. Many customers know this and thus its the reason why Blackberries and iPhones sell because of that piece of mind. Things like Android is going to take some time due to the very niche audience it carries. In most cases, the manufacturers themselves sell the hardware based on a custom UI. in this case, timescape/mediascape. |

X1 is made in China. HTC's policy is all phones made in Taiwan. My friend told me u can easily tell if a phone is made by HTC or not by looking at "Made-in-Taiwan" because they are the last one.... :p |
Saw it in person yesterday. So very nice. My brother got one on Friday and made me want one too. Put it next to my n900, the LCD is beautiful and very visiable under sunlight. Design is sleek. n900 is still easier on email and browser imo, but lack of application. Costco has it for $50 ($100 instant gift card usable toward the phone and no mail in rebate required). But only for new customers. I want to sign up a new contract, but really don't need the data. My friend told me he signed up smart phones from Rogers before and pay $100 ECF on data part after a month. But the sales told me if I cancel data part within 6 months, I have to pay $250+ extra for the phone? Anyone know? |
^ TFT can be beautiful, but it sucks too much battery power. if you compare x10 with samsung super amoLED...there's no comparison. |
shitt thats pretty nice. |

Well even Windows phones with resistive screens are getting Multitouch, so it's not impossible that the X10 will get it. To me it's all a moot point anyway, basing your decision on the existence of multitouch is just stupid. |
i don't think multitouch will make a break the x10... sure i wouldn't mind having multi touch.. but i know i'm not missing it ~ seriously.. if the iphone doesn't support multi touch.. are you not gonna buy it? probably not.. having multi touch is nice.. but if having multi touch is at the sacrifice of battery life.. then i prefer not having multi touch or have an option to disable it. i don't even recall the last time i used mt on the iphone other than playing sf4.. i use double tap on the broswer instead of pinch zooming.. coz it's much faster and it'll zoom in to fit the text fully on the window.. so if you are deciding whether or not if u want this phone because of multitouch.. try out the x10 first and then ask urself.. how often do u use multitouch.. |
