Thanks for the keyboard razor :D feels so different now... did anyone else have a little trouble doing it? I got a few battle scars on the laptop now cause I had trouble with the side clips... and I might be tripping, or I didn't put it in right, but the keyboard looks a bit raised on the left side at the "D" key and on the right side at the "L" key =.= and props to illicitstylz ;) |

make sure all the tabs are aligned/clicked in properly. Other than that, I can't say I know why it would look raised... |
ya turns out I was just trippin lol new keyboard feels so good, dont have to worry about pressing "\" instead of shift |

I saw this at Walmart the other day. The machine seems to be surprisingly solid, the keyboard doesn't flex like some cheap laptops out there, it's quite thin compared to other 17 inchers & the screen resolution is 1600x900. The one thing I would really like to know is how colours are rendered on the screen, as they don't have wifi, and they wouldn't let me tether my iPhone to it. What do you guys think? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rap/photo2.jpg |

clearly it's a budget laptop. don't you have a 17" mbp? what r u gonna use this for? For a little more $, some i3/i5-M's can be had now. |

Yep, just bought a 17" Macbook Pro, but my other 17" laptop which is now 4 years old is used by the missus and is close to death, so I might get this one. As she only uses it for internet, Skyping & the very occasional photo editing, this just might be the one that fits her needs the most I've looked at so far. I'd love to get her a Macbook or Macbook Pro, but they're a little overkill for her. |
Wound up picking up a Dell Inspiron from the Dell website a while back. It's a solid laptop for general purpose/light gaming, but my MAJOR gripe with this thing is that the fucking keyboard doesn't like to register fast spacebar presses. My brother's VAIO has a normal space bar, but if I type my normal speed compared to that, it doesn't register at all. Sometimes I have to hammer on it to register properly. Any options for an inexpensive keyboard replacement? Thanks. |

Anyone recommend a good laptop for 3D rendering/modeling/animation? Looking for: - budget between 800$ and 1300$ - 13"-15" - Good graphics card with 8GB memory - 1080p resolution - minimum 9 to 12 cell battery - Primarily used for 3Ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite (lllustrator/Bridge/Indesign/Photoshop) - Photo/video editing - Storage capacity doesn't matter - Planning to keep it for the next 5 years - Must be slim, light, and portable - Looked at Dell XPS 15, Asus Zenbooks, and Lenovo W520 Thinkpad so far. Not interested in Apple. |

good screen, powerful CPU, power GPU ... + large battery and slim/light is hard to have in your price range. if you do go with lenovo, google the RFD coupons/links. |
Thinkpad specs are nice but they are too bulky and dated looking. I like the design and look of their Ideapad's but spec wise doesn't meet my needs. |
