there are a lot of stuff u can do actually vs roaches..

if u scout and find out theyre going fast 1 base roach... all u need is a handful of zealot and 1 or 2 sentries....

*only if the ramp is small

if the ramp is big u can just quick go 3gateforge, get 1 or 2 cannon and some zealot and ull b fine..

zerg is super ez to beat as long as u put pressure on them for the first 8-10mins..
if u let them pressure u, its pretty much gg once they have slight map control

just bought my sc2 game last week, and been playing campaign mode. Alot of FUN.
Tried multiplayer, and well.. having a hard time :(
Been using protoss, and sucking lol.
Any suggestions to website or anything a new sc2 player can refer too?

oh ya.. force yourself to use hotkey from playing a lot..

starting out as a newer player, protoss is one of the easier races to learn.

go on youtube and watch "forcestrategy"'s channel. follow the build orders to get a general sense of what and when to build

go to Team Liquids website theres a lot of information there you can read about . All i do is watch the GSL to learn lol.

When the servers first came out, everyone was competing to fill up the higher league positions (ie. Platinum/Diamond). To facilitate the game's release and the huge surge of first generation players, they made new diamond/platinum leagues to accomodate whatever ratio there are of highly skilled : lesser skilled players.

I believe they've either slowed down or completely stopped making new upper leagues to fill up, so now, unless you were initially placed in that league, it will be much more difficult to advance as you'll be fighting for those positions with other more skillful players in your current league, and the less skilled players in the league above you.

There's a lot of proof for this theory, because both my 3v3 and 4v4 teams have been stuck in platinum (anywhere from rank 1-5, depending on how much we play every few days) for quite a number of games (think 20-30) with win ratio's easily around or above 2W:1L, and still not advancing. Not only that, but if you take a look at the higher ranking teams in our leagues, they have insane win ratios of like 22:3, or 19:1. I just assume from this that there is simply no room in higher leagues for anything less than the best, so you'll have to be prepared to fight tooth and bone to get promoted.

^i've heard promotion is based on how many of upper ranks (eg. if ur platinum, then diamond) you beat.

if you're lucky enough to face someone more favored, just make sure win those, they are the important ones if you want to move on!

haha, it's just my theory, I really haven't read into the mechanics of how leagues and promotions work, nor am I convinced anyone aside from blizzard knows completely.

we've dealt with and won against quite a few high ranked diamond teams, like Azn/Darkness/See (If anyone's ever played them, you'll know these guys are no joke), but still no cigar on the promotion.

lol i dont just sit and defend.. for toss u have to keep the pressure on early game before muta comes out..
at least i try to.. for u to get an army of muta lings requires a 2nd expansion...

i think 3v3 and 4v4 is easy to get into diamond. i think its because not a lot of people play 4v4... i bumped up 10-20 ranks everytime i won and eventuallly made it to rank 13 diamond.

any pro on SC2 here i need some good team! tired of losing with n00bs that come and leave the game!

sc2 is all about absorbing info its kinda funny all you have to do is watch and imitate, assuming you got a decent rts (eg. bw) background!

Oh man, thinking of quitting zerg for protoss... My 200 food zerg army just got decimated by a 150 food terran army and I ended up losing the game with more points than him at the scoreboards.... w t f...
