In regards to filing here... you totally should. If even just for the off chance that he'll see some more jail time. In order for him to get arrest, it'll be either a small claims warrant (like someone else posted, he'll need to be a no-show to a summons, usually a couple), or if he refuses to show, an immediate arrest warrant will go out, issued by the judge. That way, if he gets a speeding ticket or whatever, his name will get run and the warrant notification will get back to the officer.

Hopefully you'll see some of your hard earned money back!
